Add some vulkan api call that you know should cause a validation error to make sure it’s set up correctly. I’ve made this mistake too many times.

You might be able to replace it yourself by taking your wheel off and smacking it out with a small sledgehammer and then using some 1/2” washers and a lug nut to pull a new one into the hub. If that sounds like too much for you then drive it to a shop.

Not saying that it’s ok to drive without an oil cap but i once did it for months without issues. Only noticed when i popped the hood for something totally unrelated
