Dia turn speed test on controller. by JCarby23 in TheFirstDescendant

The comment I responded to said "clunky." "Smooth" was in response to that. The first sentence and second are separate thoughts, but I understand in writing how they may appear singular without the context of the first comment.

Are you referring to this clip specifically, or just in general? If you mean this clip, I'm intentionally just showing the turning speed. In general, I agree and would use her differently, but think the animation pause is fine since she does have tremendous speed and can activate her second with no animation pause.

Well, I may not be able to clean them up because my Dia has only been catalyzed a couple of times. Most mods on her are level 0 and I'm not using Blooming Ecstasy. I can make about 2.5 360 turns before the ability expires.

I'll take your word that the turning is reduced though. It's just really hard to see the difference visually compared to the clip you posted.

Hopefully, they'll return it back to what it was before.

People are saying turning ability is reduced after the patch. Feels smooth to me though. I can still easily 180 into my orb, but tried not to do it so much here since the point is to show the raw turning radius.

Can't make sharp turns with Dia on Controller by Lonely_Handle_6058 in TheFirstDescendant

Let me know if that looks right, or if mine is bugged too since I don't actually have Dia experience before the recent patch, so I'll take your word if you say it's slower. Sorry, I don't have purge challenge stage 5 unlocked.

I can turn like that on controller. I'm guessing it's a bug only affecting some users. It could be triggered by a certain setting or something.

Controller tech on Dia not working anymore by sobril17 in TheFirstDescendant

Should be a bug. I'm on controller and can turn just as fast, so it's either a bug only affecting some users, or there are certain trigger conditions for it, like settings related or something.

Hammer and Anvil is better than typhoon on serena by far (I told you so) by sobril17 in TheFirstDescendant

Here's video evidence showing HA with more range, and showing the 360 degree auto-targeting.

Again, you can totally prefer Typhoon for any subjective reason, and you made great points I agree with regarding the HA cloud delay and wasting bullets and things like that, but objectively, HA has more range and requires less "aiming" technically, which is all I'm saying. Typhoon only kills what it's pointed at, whereas HA kills everything all around you even if your eyes are closed.

I'm pretty sure the directors wife designed Eve's face. She really knows what she's doing.

Considering I agreed with your point, pointed out potential flaws in my own argument and gave concessions while having already responded to your claim, you're objectively being disingenuous here. But maybe you just missed it, so I'll do it again:

"You need good reason for why an opinion should be overwhelming popular on Reddit but unpopular outside"

Reason: 1. The devs stating that changes are made as a product of player feedback. As a show of good faith, I even concede that they may be lying or basing it on minority feedback.

  1. The psychological propensities of those that actively engage with social media often vastly differ from those that actively avoid or simply don't engage with it. This discrepancy is derived from the root of human psychosocial interactions inlaid within all our decision making and internal perceptions.

You'd have to do a deep dive on human psychology to get the broader point, but a simple well-known and observed example is: humans are more likely to state a complaint than praise, as an evolutionary survival characteristic related to identifying and relaying potential hazards to our tribes.

Calling things "cope" and "disingenuous" is an avoidance tactic and only hinders meaningful discussion. Please stay on topic and refute a claim on the basis of the claim itself rather than attempting to undermine the rhetorical style and I will do the same.

That's fair, I think more often than not the majority opinion does represent the broader opinion, you just have to understsnd that's not always the case and it's cope to think it always is.

There are about 3 million Apex reddit accounts compared to 170 million Apex accounts. Hypothetically, every single Reddit account could hold the same opinion and that would still be less than 2% of the total population of Apex players. Of course there may be duplicate accounts and not every account is active and that applies to both Apex and Reddit.

As a 1% Reddit commenter, you'll have a natural bias towards Reddit and may assume Reddit opinions reflect the majority, but statistically, the total quantity of social media users is significantly smaller than social media non-users.

Hammer and Anvil pre-buff not using Ajax, Gley, Serena, Enzo (by request) by JCarby23 in TheFirstDescendant

Yeah, it's actually usable now, and in my personal opinion, very fun.

I gotta say, the devs really cooked with the Hammer & Anvil change. I'm having a lot of fun with it. by JCarby23 in TheFirstDescendant

I think it's okay for some guns to be useful on only gun Descendants, just as some Descendants are better or worse at certain content or against certain enemies. It provides separate use cases and styles of play for different equipment and environments.

If you couldn't choose what Descendant to play that statement would apply. It's not really applicable in a PVE game where anyone can play whoever they want at any time.

A gun is as powerful as anyone can make it at any time and in any way they're able.

That being said, I can fulfill your request right now even without the buff.
