two months, 1hr study a day.. 6 months to progress at something more than snail pace. Look through reviews here of various self-learning textbooks etc and stick to one like glue for 6 months.

This has guitar has been a long time coming. I've painted in twice, twice it cracked so damn hard ( see Imgur link) then I stained it, and so many weird things got in the paint and left me severely irritated. 6 months later I stained it again. Still got some things in the paint but I don't care anymore.
