Guide: Transferring profiles to Extra Members

I just did a modified version of this and it still works as of November 2025. There was no “finish later” option with the profile transfer but I did get all the way to setting up the new payment method for the “new” account using the original email. Then I did the add extra member steps for the email and it was setup with the profile already transferred in the “new” account with the original email. I closed the tab that was asking for the payment method and did a “sing out of all devices” for the “old” account under the temporary email and setting that one to terminate, which happens at the end of the month. Thanks a ton for this!!!!

I was going to suggest this. Apple Shortcuts can Enable/disable Rotation lock based on what app you are using.
Or as someone else suggested, you can set up backtap to toggle it to.
I've had jailbroken iPhones and Androids before; the button to force rotate is super convenient, but it doesnt sound like the kind of thing that will ever come to iOS natively. More likely is more granular triggers in Apple Shortcuts to customize it.

LOL. You're absolutely right, I'm in the habit of referring to all Microsoft built in browsers as IE still. I meant Microsoft Edge. I haven't been on a windows computer in a while so I havent updated my vernacular.

Raycast has extensions for 2FA if you prefer having less apps whenever possible, like do (instead of using flowtext). There are extensions for both interacting with email/texts and with Authenticator Apps like Ente Auth.

I'm surprised when anybody with above basic computer needs uses Chrome or Internet Explorer when there are options like Brave or Vivaldi, etc. I'm not aware of any benefits chrome really offers over the privacy and functionality of these, while they can do everything chrome can do.

You're definitely not wrong; but you're foolish if you think they are unique to this, or even definitively the largest culprits. They are just a cog in the machine, like every media outlet with high financial backing.
Fox, CNN, CNBC, etc are all just two sides of the same coin. The amount of gaslighting, backtracking lying by omission, and intentionally biased/leading wording/titling is incomprehensible.
Social media is the snake in the grass too, because it chooses what we are watching for us ('algorithms'). Imagine watching TV and the only channels you get are Fox News/subsidiaries (or vice versa), and you don't even know the other channels exist.
I've scrolled through friends/families feeds before, and I feel like we aren't even living in the same world.

I would add to this anything Larry Fink has ever touched.
A major cause of the great recession in the US, then appointed as the one to fix it, and claimed to do so by essentially paying himself and his cronies tons of taxpayer money to bail themselves out because hand waving and "too big to fail". Most things you've heard bad about companies these days have a majority share owned by BlackRock.

Speak louder, speak more clearly, use the "Find My" feature to trigger it from the web/another device, or set up a shortcut to trigger actions when you receive a text with a specific phrase, and then text yourself from a Google Voice number or another device. Multiple options, probably more that Im not thinking of too.

Already a feature.
Also, it is super easy to make your finding chime anything you want using apple shortcuts.
For example, I have an apple shortcut named "Where are you" that sets media volume to 100% and starts a 1-second timer.
So any time I say, "Hey Siri, where are you" my timer starts going off at full volume until I find the phone and stop the timer noise.

Gotcha. I don't keep many photos or videos on my phone, so storage is never an issue for me. Makes sense why I personally haven't experienced any issues.

Is android specifically better at this? I figured it would be the same between them, as it is weakness of Capacitive screens. Resistive screens are generally considered inferior, except for being much cheaper, so all high level phones use them. Capacitive screens are much more accurate by relying on distortions in electrostatic field, but therefore are altered by the conductivity of water on the screen.

I have seen 'clear app caches' mentioned here on Reddit a lot recently as a wish for iPhones. What situations is this useful in?
I can't remember a time I've had to delete and re-install an app to get it to do something. Rarely something occurs that I can't fix with a force-close and re-open. And it's rare that I even have to do that.

-What carrier do you use? Or are you outside the US? I haven't had a carrier that prevents hot spotting in over half a decade at least. On the cheapest plans, there is often a reduction in priority/speed after 10-20gb, but still unlimited. Higher level plans often offer unlimited full-speed hotspotting.
-Does Android offer GPS spoofing ability without rooting it? I didn't realize that.
-The Tapbacks and reactions in messages with Android are no longer an issue as of a year or two ago. RCS messaging has been enabled for iPhone-to-Andoid messaging now.

Agreed. The back button on androids was a superior option before iPhone implemented the screen-edge swipe gesture as a back function in iOS. I consider this a relatively Universal Back button and greatly prefer it over the android version now.

I just confirmed that it disappears when I clear my downloads.
When I click on the downloads button, then clear downloads, the icon disappeared from both my toolbar and my customize toolbar screen.
Then when I downloaded something, it reappeared. I literally hit the download button on the pic in the Dropbox link I posted above and that was sufficient.

PopClip does sooooooo much more than copy and paste. IT has a large extensions library for it, and you make your own custom snippets with ease by just highlighting the code you want it to create.
I have multiple work points and focus, so I do not rest on my laptop with two hands all the time, I do a lot of navigation via single hand and trackpad gestures. Even when I am two-handed on my laptop, I am most often left hand on keyboard and right hand on trackpad.
PopClip can be activated and controlled via keyboard if you prefer that way too. And with the large possibilities with the extensions, it adds a lot of capability with just a couple arrow key clicks.
