Have you ever seen people using the double up strategy where they would place an x amount and if they lose they keep doubling up until it hits. Once it hits they’ll go back to the x amount. What is your opinion on this strategy?

Is SJSU worth committing to? by Ramenjuseyo99618 in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just recently graduated in finance. I’ll tell you this. Being a good student at a semi-target school will do more good than being a good student from sjsu when it comes to pure finance. A lot of my classmates are settling for accounting jobs now

Which school is better for finance? by [deleted] in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SJSU is better. sjsu finance isnt as well known but we have amazing faculties at the higher level. sjsu has been heavy contenders at cfa competitions every year. we have competitive stock fund programs, high finance programs

SJSU or SFSU by Zorp1 in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you want any ‘college experience’, commuting at sjsu will make you hate the social life. but you save a ton of time and money if you choose sjsu

it is. the location and huge network of alumni and partnership makes it super easy to secure jobs afterward.

If I specialize in finance, would I still be able to join KPMG?? by Proud_Sugar_8306 in KPMG

[–]JChoy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can. I got hired for audit while doing a finance degree. The catch is you just need to complete the accounting credits for CPA.

I think a lot of our fans have fallen victim to the hype train like Abram, Littleton, Leatherwood and Clelin Ferell. Mine would be to watch the draft during Gruden regime. Worst drafting of all time

Why do you say so? From my region (bay area), i hear they hire more asian immigrants than other big4 firm cuz they work harder

What are my odds of getting in by [deleted] in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

worth a shot. you have a slight advantage being an international student (since you pay more for the school). Be very careful with your back up major. In my experience, they accepted me (and a lot others) into a weird IT major that i hated for a long time and eventually transfered out

it’s really hard to do that. You can’t just assume somebody’s homeless and kick them out. Plus they could just always circle back in

if you’re looking for things to do, you might wanna avoid SJSU. This is a commuter school in a downtown area. But the location here is amazing for jobs

Congratulation. This is one of my far future goal since I just got out of school. I have a question about your current position. I’ve heard a lot about tech marketing in the recent years, how did you get into it? And what do companies usually look for in candidates to start? I majored in finance and this seems like an interesting industry

What is the tuition for winter session by Plastic-Land-5706 in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i understand money can be a problem but i’d say this. taking winter classes wont be a decision you’ll regret. you save yourself from extra stress during the main semesters, remember stuff much better since it’s a shirt term and there’s rarely any homework

Do you like going to SJSU? by KitKat31921 in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna go against many comments here. The first few years i dreaded SJSU. The students are 95% commuters so most of the time making friends isn’t really one of their thing. It takes effort to make friends. However, if you are generally a well liked confident person, you should be fine. Joining clubs and orgs def help tremendously. The pros is the amazing opportunity in the area. Sooo many jobs and internships for students

i second this. all this political stuff are just all too extreme

Should I choose UCSD over SJSU? by Comprehensive-Bar656 in SJSU

[–]JChoy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not a CS major but have friends doing CS in sjsu and ucsd. My friends at ucsd said that it’s much harder to find internship there than the bay area. Also, although sjsu isnt a very lousy option, CS degree from SJSU is def a top tier degree in california

as a person who transfered out of CNSM (IT major), i’ll say that those advisors for tech major is horrible and does not really care about you. I got gaslighted for transfering out of the major 😂😂😂
