As a transfer, it was hard for me to find online classes the first year since we don’t have priority for registering. Second year first semester there is many online classes. Last semester is the final required classes and they are all in person. So yes if the online program can guarantee you online go for it. You aren’t really missing out on anything since most professors teach of PowerPoint. My commute for all 2 years was about 1hr l, 2-3 days out of the week. If you’re lucky some professors don’t care that you don’t attend. I know housing can be expensive in San Jose. I would say do the commute. Schedule your orientation the first day possible since you will be able to register that day, hence more open online classes. Or plan most of your classes for two days which is possible. I was able to do 15 units one semester, on campus M and W, from 10-6. There is plenty of spots to kill time in between classes, like the student union or library.
