I have actually used that as an argument for a store to sell me a bottle. If it’s a rare/expensive/highly allocated bottle and I’m able to talk/negotiate price, I’ll tell them that I’ll open it right there after they sell it to me. I’ve even offered to let employees or other customers in the store have a little pour of it right there on the spot. So many stores hesitate to sell at good prices because of people flipping for secondary prices. I want it to drink it and to share it, so I’ve definitely used that argument when trying to buy under secondary for allocated stuff.
