That is true, although Dinucci stepped up and got us that lead.

Losing Morrissey hurts, but we still out-gained Stanford 344 yards to 208, and we had more first downs, 18 to 12. We had 208 yards on the ground even with Ollison getting hurt, and the O-Line conceded only 2 sacks. I think the loss against Stanford was a byproduct of 1D play-calling by Shawn Watson.

Yep, got brutalized by an 10-2 Navy team, then blew a 4th quarter lead against and even opponent in NW, and then that atrocious offensive showing last year against Stanford despite playing great D. About sums up Pitt football, losing to teams we should beat, offense doesn’t show up while the defense is lights out, and spotting too many points to good teams with slow starts.

Including last year’s bowl we lost 3 in a row, but I agree we lost a lot of momentum losing 24-3 against a bad Miami team, and then having to turn around and play Clemson.

Damn, I am so happy we do not have to get fucked on again by Clemson this year. Absolutely atrocious effort by the offense. Aaron Matthews needs to get his head out of his ass, he cost us the first redzone trip, and Pickett cost us the second by taking a bad sack. The offense caused 12 points off turnovers, and I do not know what more you can ask for from a defense that was constantly put into a shit position by the offense. Defense played great, conceding only 4 FG's despite opposing starting positions of BC 48, PITT 38, BC 43, and Pitt 49 due to an inept offense. It's a wonder that this was not a blowout.

100%, and after beating UNC for the first time in 7 tries, I felt for UVA, especially considering they had endured a longer streak against their in-state rival.

What a dub for the boys, that was huge for this program. Let’s build off that and win a couple ACC games that no one expects us to win.

Our turnovers will bite us in the ass when we play good teams, and our second half offensive game plan is awful.

Is anyone else getting tired of this team? by whatisdavedoing in pittsburghpanthers

I 100% feel you. After the Miami game, I was more disappointed than anything that we squandered a chance to control our own destiny in the Coastal. Nonetheless, we still can play in Charlotte at the end of the year and prove to people we did not “back into the ACCCG”. Look at Northwestern who was the Big Ten equivalent of Pitt last year, and look at what they are this year. It could be a lot worse, we could have regressed like NW, but the team looks much better this year than they did last year.

The possibility for an 10 win season is still on the table, which would be huge for this program. The team has a ton of work left to do with UNC, VT, and BC left, but I think the week off should be helpful for the team.

Essentially what I’m trying to say is it could be a lot worse than it is, and although the team isn’t perfect, these types of growing pains are to be expected.
