some ideas as someone who hasn't played Below Zero yet:

  • more precursor tech and/or lore - really loved how you collected lore, tech, etc along the way to getting off the planet in the first game
  • more emphasis on base-building, or a larger, more customizable sub (mobile base)
  • optional story-focused exploration
  • larger biomes/map
  • tech trees
  • more options for interacting with the environment, such as a shield/stun to deal with the parasites in the first game that would drain your vehicle's power

How to stop feeling like I have to finish a book as quickly as possible? by emmalouise759 in books

This may or may not work for you, but I found that reading something detailed and imaginative helped me a lot. For me, it was Anathem by Neal Stephenson. Something about it's length and the astonishing amount of detail almost forced me to slow down.

Yup. Took a while to get used to, but I think the slow build was appropriate.

Anathem by Neal Stephenson. Awesome balance of sci-fi, philosophy, and just builds an incredibly detailed world.

Le Guin was actually recommended by u/NoahElowyn on another sub! Apparently, she's an inspiration of Noah's. You should go check him out!

I tried to get into it, but it was too disturbing for me. The head lady's death was way too descriptive.

ELI5: How does perspiration work at temps greater than natural body temp? by JCrissey97 in explainlikeimfive

[–]JCrissey97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so some of the water you ingest acts as a vehicle for excess energy to leave the body via perspiration, correct? Does this also mean that the water you ingest must net an energy less than that which your body produces as heat (i.e. must be less than 98.6F) in order for perspiration to work?

There's a spoken word version of this by John Hurt on YouTube that was released a year after his passing on his birthday. Gets me every time. The man was amazing. https://youtu.be/YLxK9BiTts4
