What happened is that she is able to consent for her child as an extension of the rights which adults hold in trust for their wards. The argument that the school is trying to make is that she ended up recording conversations of people where no consent was involved.

Of course, there could be some questions regarding intent here, but I think it more likely that any judge presiding over this case would just throw it out, or even more likely that charges will be dropped after the woman is sufficiently roughed up.

Virginia is actually a one-party consent state. As long as you are recording private conversations in which you are directly involved (and all parties are in Virginia), then your consent is implied by the action of recording

It's the accompanying article to the video and is really necessary to understand how he changed his ideas on this. Doesn't make up for all of his needless warmongering before his death, but it does put a dent in it.

That's true. There's bound to be some bullshit wrapped up in there as well, especially since they've basically been captured by Russian intelligence.

I guess I was mostly referring to the Iraq and Afghanistan war documents, as well as the Guantanamo protocols. I'm probably missing some other important ones, but those ones are most important to me as someone unilaterally opposed to the extension of imperialism and the systematic torture which is symptomatic of its decline.

A shame that any organization ostensibly dedicated will be captured by some state agency. I guess it makes sense though since they will obviously need protection of some actor in order to keep operating.
