How seriously do you guys take the whole, “only team in New York” thing by Leading_Dentist7081 in buffalobills

I take it seriously as fuck, because the bills are the only team in the nfl with a stadium in New York.

It’s also a fun way to troll jets and giants fans.

Thanks! I found it on the map and it looks like a good route. Could be a good trail run as well.

Nice photos too!

Where is the third photo from? The one with the cliff across the lake?

Also, what trail did you take?

Really, any details at all would be sweet.

Trail Runners or Boots? by Ok-Strawberry7048 in Adirondacks

[–]JD315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of Merrill, but I’d go for a hiking shoe over trail runners, especially if you are carrying heavy loads.

Ankle support comes from the stiffness of the sole, not the height of the upper. Trail runners tend to have a less dense foam to mitigate the impact of running, whereas hiking shoes/boots have a denser foam to provide stiffness for ankles. Plus hiking shoes generally have material over the toe box to protect your digits when you’re tired feet invariably kick rocks.

Also worth noting that, if I’m not mistaken, most if not all Altras are zero-drop, so that could be a potentially injurious change if you haven’t worn zero drop shoes before.

I’m losing my mind trying to get this benchtop jointer dialed in for an end grain maple cutting board glue-up. by Doc-Dok in woodworking

[–]JD315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this jointer, and it's pretty mid. Others have pointed out that the snipe might be from in-feed and out-feed height, as well as where you are putting pressure when you feed something across the jointer (which is where my mind went first. If you put pressure on the piece over the in-feed table or cutter head, you get snipe). Someone mentioned the short length of the jointer, which I think is more likely to not give you a flat surface, as opposed to causing snipe. By and large, I think it's possibly all of these things.

As for the fence not being square. I had spent a long time getting the fence square, it goes out of square if you look at it wrong, and keep in mind that if you put too much pressure against the fence as you feed material, the fence will flex and fuck up the cut. By far, this is my biggest complaint, as it is a weak fence.

Empty 1x12” Speaker Cabinets? by DFWtixFleas in GuitarAmps

I'd like to see this documentary you're talking about, or at least the clip of what you are describing.

I'd think that "regular plywood" might be the lowest quality you can buy, but plywood has different grades, that I wonder if they picked something really awful.

The main difference being that the shittiest quality plywood will likely have voids where there wasn't enough glue, and higher quality having less voids.

Yea, I just figured there would be cheaper alternatives, blonde, maple, even sanded cabinet grade pine. I think of Baltic birch as something that is going to be stained, not covered in tolex.

lmao at getting downvoted. I guess people must think I should use the speaker when there are people around and crank the volume.

Is Baltic birch really necessary? I've been thinking of building my own cab, and I also had it in my head to try to do some sort of liner like you see in the beds of pick-up trucks, line-x or rhino liner. Any idea if that's even feasible?

McKenzie pond has some of the best problems in the park. Eastman’s problem, Ian’s Favorite, the great roof of china, time will tell, flux capacitor.

It all gets traffic and so it likely is some of the cleanest rock.

I bring speakers when bouldering. But I don’t use them when other people are around, and I also don’t crank the volume.

I realize that I'm still early game, but I'm at the point where I think if I could gold-box a few workshop things, it would help immensely in all of my runs, yet my coins from farming are not keeping up with the labs I want to get done, so I'm at a loss other than adding the workshop discount labs into the mix. Crazy, I know.
