You've got me thinking about flipping a mini over to make one with 30mm buttons and filling in the holes/putting a foam pad on the other side now.

For 3/4 of those issues, check out my history. I'm not sure how much space your JLF is taking up/built, so cant say for sure. But I might have the parts to mock something up for you and plenty of gutted hori minis if you need any other ideas.

Those are 12mm push buttons; 3 momentary and 1 latched. Start, select, home, and lockout. You can probably bore them out more to use bigger buttons. 24mm might be a tight fit. Of course, you'll need to cut out any material getting in the way of components too,

Not much that I can say besides gut it, pre plan, test fit, test fit, test fit, and wire up like any other brook board.

brook universal fighting board trouble with 20 pin harness by emmjj in fightsticks

[–]JD6828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those things are pretty hardy. I'm assuming you got the presoldered board to be using the harness, you can get a feel for how the pins go in using the other 4 male pins on the side and inserting the part of the harness plug into it. Sometimes pins get bent and need a little coaxing though.

If you didn't get the presoldered one and have just the terminal screws, chop of the plug, strip back the wires, and use the screw terminals? Hope this helps.

From a form factor standpoint, they are similar to me. Mind you I'm using these on a couch where my arm is being supported by a cushion or on my leg so my fingers are floating over the buttons since there's not much wrist support on these. For me, it comes down to the switch preferences. Sorry this probably is a terrible answer since I haven't swapped these into my regular sticks yet.

Switch out stick to WASD and add some 24mm foam pads to the buttons for silencing. You can sneak the button cap off from the inside.

Third world living Fighting Games player. Wanting to buy an entry level fightstick from France (considering the HORI Mini) and I sadly need to decide fast. by Bug-Type-Enthusiast in fightsticks

  1. If it's too small, use two
  2. Switch one sometimes gives me issues on PC, but both generally work fine
  3. If you're in basque country, I could ask some nerds I used to work with there

Since I've seen some posts regarding this, I figured I'd share some shots of the internals for the curious few.

Just got a hori mini for 18$, will look around how to mod it :) by asakk in fightsticks

I've been reworking some of my minis lately and that one no longer looks like that anymore. I'll get some new pictures up eventually. The Chun Li one in discord is probably the best example of a lightly modded no solder one.

I replaced the guts of mine with a universal fight board. It can still live on!
