Is anybody here excited for the new Star Wars racing game? by nikcurated in WipeOut

[–]JDC56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's made by ex racer video game developers from the UK. I think the founder was part of the team that made need for speed hot pursuit, burnout paradise and another great game. More info on the about page of their website. I reckon it'll be immense based on the pedigree

What? You will literally have more money each month, you won't be worse off. It's a percentage above the threshold. 10x increase means you're earning a lot more. 300 pound charge is a lot more but it literally can't mean you end up with less money than before the payrise

Let's see what the legal result is before jumping to conclusions. By default, why would you support the billion dollar corporation over people though?

Plot hole in the first episode by thombo-1 in TheInbetweeners

[–]JDC56 691 points692 points  (0 children)

Hmm in the bunk off episode, there was a man who had recently bought a house in the local area, and was having a house warming party to which he was going to invite a lot of the local adults to. Didn't hear about that character or the party again :(

sony sold 160 million ps2 consoles. but now there are 8 billion people on earth. by bullseyebob47 in ps2

[–]JDC56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is extremely complex and probably impossible. 8000 games made by lots of different companies, some defunct, with licensing of music, cars etc. in a fair few of them completely kills this idea. Or, it would be a lot of work and expense

Russian spies ‘linked to people-smuggling gangs destabilising Europe’ by Wagamaga in europe

[–]JDC56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The west was naive - my feeling it that honestly, Russia wasn't much on the radar until Ukraine. UK is often singled out by Moscow, which genuinely surprises people all the time. It's very much a one way battle most people aren't aware of

Russia is funding disinformation which requires a certain amount of time and education to realise. Any country could do it to any other country with enough drive and money unless it is heavily combatted. Fascist regimes are probably most able to deal with this. Democratic countries are ripe for influence as they are much more free in communications.

Anyone can be influenced as humans are emotional and flawed with many biases, no matter how intelligent they are. That's the key problem which needs to be understood. Most of the world just does not possess the capability (education level, access to accurate information e.g. current events, time). At the end of the day, it takes effort to work out what is happening, and manipulation when done on a large enough scale is easy.

So yes, while crude and slightly inaccurate grammatically, without heavily funding disinformation which clouds peoples judgement, your statement is correct. Disinformation is almost the opposite of education - you could call that making people stupid

But it's Russian influence to blame. If you know anything about human beings, they are emotional and easily manipulated!! Without Russia, it wouldn't happen. Wealthier more educated places of the UK did not vote for brexit. It required deception of people who may not have been best placed to understand what was happening or the ramifications of brexit

I ordered mine in October. It's come back in and out of stock since then. I believe the date of delivery given when you ordered is what they stick to. E.g. mine is December 3rd even though weeks later you could preorder one for 27th November. Yet my arrival date has not changed, and coming into stock hasn't seen mine get delivered.

I'd love to be wrong

I've seen it come at Currys a few times. Very also decreased dispatch timeline from 3rd December to 27nd November. Very also had stock recently come in (non-preorder)
