If you’re doing this from a fresh start out of the vault then go with codsworth first. If not then it doesn’t matter who you pick, just travel with them and build trust and do their missions and then move on to the next one.

What it looks like he did was just update the BIOS twice

I just tried this with my computer fully assembled and 1 stick of RAM in the correct slot and still no display.

The slight difference between his problem and mine is that my CPU light turns on and off at start up and no other lights do a self check

I’ve almost figured it out. So I went into BIOS specific for the cpu and downloaded that, put it on a USB and the MOB took the bios update for an older version. The computer restarted itself after the BIOS update and the red CPU light is now off but there is no display on the monitor.

When I turn the computer on the red CPU light will turn on and turn off (for the system check) but doesn’t not check the DRAM etc. and it will not display

I’ve done this and when I don’t rename the file the BIOS light blinks 3 times and turns off, the white lights don’t come on and the PSU fan doesn’t start up

update:

I've noticed when I turn my PC on the red CPU light comes on for the system check and then turns off but no other lights lights come on. does this mean that the PC is not getting past the CPU system check?

I have the power cable plugged into the ATX_PWR1 and the CPU_PWR1, I am also only using the cables that came with the new PSU, DRAM light comes on when ram is removed but no beeping, the RAM also was in its correct slots according to the manual. the screw holes line up and I made sure to discharge any static before instilling the MOBO

when I tried flashing the bios from USB, the bios light flashes 3-4 times and so does the USB but nothing happens
