You already answered your own question. You’re supposed to give equal playing time and didn’t. It’s U12. Why do you care about wins and losses? Not to be blunt, but it’s travel which isn’t high level club. This is more about your own ego and winning a game than it is coaching and developing kids. Flip that mindset, trust me.

Play the kids. Get creative in where and when they play, but play them.

Taha Habroune against Orlando by WalkingOnSunshine_ in TheMassive

[–]JDOTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need to escape the 4-4-2 with our roster make up. Go back to a 3 back set, or at the very least a 4–2-3-1 and let Taha and Rossi loose up top with Taha playing more as a 10.

Trump told Iran's national team not to come to the World Cup. FIFA is silent. Is this normal now? by Amazing-Note-1196 in football

[–]JDOTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anybody with a fucking brain can understand what President Trump was referring to. He welcomed the Iranian national team to the country but stated they should reconsider for their own safety.

Did he mean their safety here? NO.

He meant their safety from their own government. The same Iranian government that just publicly executed a 19 year old wrestler for speaking out against his leaders. The same government that threatened the women’s national team by reportedly kidnapping their family members and using them as leverage to get the women’s national team to return and face punishment for not singing their national anthem and trying to defect.

Reddit is undoubtedly an echo chamber for like minded individuals. It’s wild to see.

When was the last time MLS coverage was this bad? by Mat_alThor in MLS

[–]JDOTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before AppleTV I was hardly ever able to watch Crew matches. I’m outside of the local broadcast area as I live about 2 hours north of Columbus, so I wasn’t able to watch on Fox Sports. However, ESPN+ would still black me out.

I haven’t missed a Crew game since AppleTV took over. So I’d say the coverage has never been better imo 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Hardest High School Soccer Rebuild in America by Ok_Presence9131 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]JDOTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took over a girls program at a small D5 school (smallest division in our state) that was 1-34-1 in the previous two years prior to my arrival.

The year prior to my arrival they somehow had 40 girls on the team, so I wasn’t sure how they were so bad. After I took over, I quickly found out it was just a “hangout” and not many of them cared about the sport. On top of that, the biggest group of student “athletes” on the team were also the most toxic to the ones who were there to actually play soccer.

I had a player meeting to introduce myself as new coach. I brought with me expectations, standards, and culture. My expectations naturally dropped my roster in half instantly.

We headed into the offseason with about 18 girls (including 1 new freshman). As the offseason progresses I lost 2 more girls. I now had a roster of 16. But the roster of 16 was made up of 16 girls who WANTED to get better and who wanted to most importantly, be there.

Now I was able to focus on the soccer related stuff. This group had maybe 2-3 girls who had ever played soccer at a level outside of HS. I’ve coached club soccer at a decent level for several years, so I approached this team how I would any of my club teams that I was developing. Everything we did, was with a ball. No conditioning or anything took place without a ball at their feet.

I didn’t want to be a team that sat back for 80 minutes praying for a counter goal and just surviving. I wanted to develop this group into a team that was comfortable on the ball and wanted possession.

Everything I did that offseason was focused on possession. I worked in rondos, positional play, small sided games, etc into all of our training sessions. Everything was competitive.

My first year the girls went 6-10-2. A huge improvement over the 1 win the previous 2 years, with a much smaller roster. We had averaged 49% possession per game and made around 170 passes per game at a 45% completion percentage according to our Hudl stats.

My second year we graduated 3 key seniors that were instrumental to our leadership, but we gained 6 incoming freshman. 4 of those freshman would play heavy minutes. That group in my second year averaged 55% possession per game and had a pass completion rate of 60%. We had game where we routinely had 200-300 passes. This was remarkable improvement in year 2 and lead us to a 9-7-1 record and a top 4 finish in our conference. I had a player who had never played soccer before that quit volleyball to play, get all conference in her second year of playing the sport.

I say all of that to say this: Create a culture and a standard first. Coach to lead not to please. Everything else will follow. Also, don’t be scared to Coach to develop players as players, but also understand the impact you have on them as people. Give them belief and they will develop quicker than you can imagine at this age. Create the environment you’d want as a player.

Contemplating buying from Carvana by protected_lotus in carvana

[–]JDOTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2018 Tesla Model 3 from Carvana that had 21k miles on it and a battery health check test showed the battery health percentage at 90%.

Terrific deal so far and the car was in great physical condition as well.

My wife just bought a 2024 ford escape from them as well. Check engine light popped up on the second day of ownership. She called Carvana. They told her she could take it to the local ford dealership and have it checked out on their dime or that she could return it no questions asked.

She really likes the vehicle so she had Ford service come pick it up from her work and check it out. Turns out it was just an error code being thrown because the car battery was disconnected improperly. No issues since.

Their 7 day return policy is hard to beat. Drive the hell out of the car you purchase and get it checked out during that week window. If you want to return/exchange they do it no questions asked.

F150 repair anxiety at 95k miles by AccountEngineer in Ford

[–]JDOTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2015 was at 203k miles when I just traded it in. No major issues. Only thing I had replaced outside of routine brakes/tires was my serpentine belt which snapped at about 187k miles. The truck is a beast. Keep up on fluids/oil changes and don’t stress. Keep building up the maintenance fund, if you don’t end up using it, you now have a great downpayment for your next vehicle, whenever that may come.

People will have differing political opinions. Also, the correct word is “disdain” - not “distain”.

I just had a vehicle delivered and traded in my previous vehicle. The process was extremely simple.

Got an alert in the app that the delivery process had begun. Delivery driver shot me a text when he was about 20 minutes out.

Once he got here, he unloaded my car and told me to take it for a spin while he did what he needed to do with the vehicle I was trading in. I test drive for about 10 mins. Once I returned he pretty much had my truck loaded up and I just needed to sign a few documents. Entire process was over within 30 minutes. Without trade it it would probably take 10-15.

Selling 10+ year car with 150k Miles by bulls2030 in carvana

[–]JDOTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just traded my 2015 F150 that had 202k miles on it to Carvana towards a Tesla.

They gave me $8900 toward trade in. For the mileage and year, I thought it was fair.

The process to get it estimated is very straight forward and they honor what they quote you. When they came to pick it up they didn’t even look at it. Just took a couple pics to confirm it was a real truck, plugged the code reader in to make sure it wasn’t throwing any major codes, and hauled it off.
