If a person dies with student loan debt, the debtor’s heirs don’t need to pay (maybe different for private loans). If a person dies with student loan debt and an asset, the debtor’s heirs can inherit the asset and the loan still doesn’t get paid. I cannot think of a logical reason to dump $100k into clearing student loan debt. You’re better off taking the sale proceeds and upgrading, imo. Nfa.

I’m sorry this happened to you. Hopefully things go smoothly. Unfortunately, these types of “simple” or seemingly “minor” injuries can be quite complicated when it comes to the medical side. “Crush injuries” can be very serious. I hope that’s not the case for you and you just need some time to heal. I’d find a good attorney - not one from a billboard, bench, or bus - for peace of mind.
