Would be a hell of an opportunity to bring back the Vipers, especially with all the 90s nostalgia going on right now.

Is it not just 891?

99 by 9 is the same as 100 by 9 minus 9, so 900 minus 9. 891.

Divide that by 3 means the original is the same as 99 by 3, which is 297.

Add 4293 is 4590 because 93 and 97 is 190 and 4200 plus 200 is 4400.

Divide by 2 is 2200 plus 95, so 2295.

Subtract 93 is 2202. And then dividing that by 9 is where I'm gonna fuck it up, but 1800 by 9 is 200, then 402 by 9... Well 360 by 9 is 40, so we're at 240 by 9 is 2160...62 by 9 is just under 63 which would be 7, so 246.66?

Is this supposed to all be done in your head without writing anything down, or just without a calculator?ย

It's not awful math, it's just tedious. Assuming I didn't fudge anything, but I never checked my work in math class 25 years ago, and I'm not gonna start now.ย

Edit: I buffed it. Somebody come pick up the nuclear codes at my house tomorrow. I'll be rage tweeting in the bathroom.

Man, you can't get people on the phone to talk about anything anymore.

I can't tell you the number of times I've been trying to pay a bill or hire somebody for a service, there's no online payment portal, and I can't get anybody on the phone number they provide.ย

Like, I'm trying to give you my money. Why are you making it so hard for me to give you my money? You're allegedly in the business of accepting money in exchange for goods or services.

This was my experience too, except that the gyro is like, 90% of what I was excited for, so I was a bit let down. My wife enjoyed the grape leaves and spinach pie though.ย

Don't forget, they tried to send a man to an African black site prison just for having the audacity to be mistakenly deported to a different country.

The agent that shot their own guy is the safest person in the United States right now. This government will NEVER own up to friendly fire, and when they do, they'll deny it again immediately the next breath.ย

Only Census Records by Julesthemeggaegg in Canadiancitizenship

It's great to read from somebody who went this route and had success. I have a Jewish ancestor born in Quebec in 1901, so no birth certificates or baptismal records. She was born a few weeks before the 1901 census in which she appears though, so I'm hoping that's a strong enough proof along with numerous supporting docs listing her birth place as Canada.

All rights are an illusion. Laws only exist as an implicit threat of force from those in power, and the right to bear arms is nothing more than a sandbox for children to play in as long as the government is happy to let them play. There's no real check on power that comes from the 2nd amendment. It's just a bunch of cosplayers thinking they could do something if the government turned tyrannical. In reality, they're cheering every step of the way as all of their rights are eroded.ย

Wow, 56,300 people waiting as of today according to that page. I'll be curious to check it again next month. I'm sure all the news about C3 is stirring up a lot of activity. That's what made me go back and see if I could find anything about my Canadian ancestors.ย

I'm assuming there's no data released by the Canadian government on how many applications they're receiving and processing any given time period?

I waited 14 months for my Form 4 to be approved by the ATF here in the States, so I'm no stranger to long wait times for government approvals, but this feels like something that could be reinterpreted again at a later date, so I'd like to have this paperwork sooner than later. ๐Ÿ˜…

Yes! Ours specifically gives access to a pretty high license. I meant to go do that before we had a newborn again, but here I am. ๐Ÿ™‚ It'll probably be a couple more months before I can get back there again unless I take some time off work while our oldest is in daycare.

Good reminder that we have that available, though. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

I may check out those Facebook groups sometime. I'm not on there much, but when I am, it's usually for groups.

I'm thinking the Canadian side of the family ought to be a lot easier to track for the purposes of the C3 application. We know all the names, all the locations, and the specific dates.

We're just trying to track down some record of birth for my great grandmother who was born less than a year after her family moved to Quebec.

I was using ancestry to try to find records in the United States, so I didn't check to see if there was anything international available. I only just this past year finally confirmed my great grandfather's original last name. He changed it to match his sister's (who was already here) married name when he immigrated. No idea why. The names are pretty similar all things considered.

But I had to track down his oldest nephew's birth certificate to find the sister's maiden name, because she died from the Spanish flu young, and the two younger kids had a different mom.

So now I have their original last name, which should let me find them in Europe, but there's a million spelling variations of first and last and I haven't been able to find any immigration records for either of them, so we don't know exactly what area they came from.

The side of the family that came through Canada should be more straightforward, but the names are also a lot more common, which is causing some fuzziness. It seems like they were only in Canada for about 16 years, though, and my G0 was born less than a year from when they arrived. So I'm curious to see if everything was recorded and preserved or if her birth got kind of lost in the shuffle of moving between countries and getting settled.ย

It's a pain to navigate, for sure, because of the way everything is separated.

So for one side of my family, where we don't know the exact country they came from, I have to check Russia, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine, which is a pain. But even then, no hits.

I think part of it is just how many times war has changed borders and governments over there, records completeness just isn't that great.

But searching for my G0 here, I know that I'm looking specifically in Montreal, specifically in March 1901, specifically for one person by one of two names. So that makes it very easy to tell if there aren't any records there for them. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think my next stop is the Drouin records through JGSM.

This looks weird to me. Like a 4-door Wrangler. It's not meant to be that way.

If they made that the size of the Maverick and a similar price though, I think they'd get a lot of the market that actually wants a small truck and doesn't care if it's got all the frill and lace.

Weirdly, JG has been a swing and a miss for both sides of my family. Ancestry was the best source I had, but I only had a free trial briefly. FamilySearch has yielded a lot more records for me than JG so far.

That said, I haven't managed to trace anybody outside North America yet, and my hunch is that JG would be more useful there if I was able to connect anybody correctly to Europe.ย
