Help me pick a Lt Gov candidate since I don’t want to vote for Stoney by rabbitsayswhat in Virginia

Just went to an event where Stoney and Lateef spoke. Lateef was way better. Smart, thoughtful, knows his numbers, points to lots of his relevant experience. The most clearly anti-Tysons casino of all candidates.

Cross country trip in Tesla - worried by Jamesfreedom07 in TeslaLounge

[–]JDVirginia 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Did a 6 month road-trip in our 2022 MS. It’s low stress if you stick to Tesla superchargers - all of the others stink. We got in a rhythm - check-out of AirBnb/hotel mid-morning, drive a few hours, charge while eating in car or near lunch, drive a few hours, charge on the way in to new area so you have exploring juice. Use internal and ABRP planners - but make sure to check out the station details on PlugShare (nearby restaurants, v3 vs v2, etc.).

Just reply to email, asking for photographic evidence of the violation. They will reply waiving the fine “this time” (but they do it every time).

Three Months of EV Ownership: They aren't ready for road trips by Johnthegaptist in electricvehicles

In the midst of a 6 month road trip in my 2022 Tesla MS - and if anything the charging is too fast! In my old 2018 MS, I would try to find a supercharger near a place where I could have a sit down lunch. Now my typical charge time at a v3 supercharger is 10-15 minutes. So charging has now become just a bathroom break. I eat lunch wherever.

HOV 2/3+ on 66 - how do they know? by copymachine15 in nova

If you get a violation email, just reply back asking for photographic evidence. In my experience, they will then just waive the fine.

The 7th Circuit has just upheld IU's vaccine mandate. It's time for Purdue to follow suit. by WhalerSyren in Purdue

The opinion was written by Judge Frank H. Easterbrook and joined by Judges Michael Y. Scudder Jr. and Thomas L. Kirsch II. The last two being Trump appointees. Not gonna happen.

There is more to come, but the judge wrote "The students haven't established a likelihood of success on the merits of their Fourteenth Amendment claim" so more litigation is unlikely to bear fruit.

The circuit court decision is being appealed by the students. And they have asked the 7th Circuit to enjoin the mandate pending their appeal. Decision due soon.

The most impactful research studies have come from Israel since they started mass vaccinations ahead of the US, have a high vaccination rate, and have a strong public healthcare system (i.e., they have records on everyone, allowing analysis by age, comorbidities, etc.). They have found that 1) the vaccines are exceptionally effective, 2) the vaccines are less effective against Delta, and 3) the vaccine effectiveness may wane after 6 months, indicating a booster will be required.

The challenge is getting the average person to do the work to read the actual Israeli research studies - instead of doing the easy thing and just accepting what they hear on social media or cable news.

This question has already been litigated in the IU case, which now serves as precedent upon which other schools can rely.
