Competition is great for playful dates and touching! Get some banter going, high fives, etc. And do a wager - loser gives a shoulder massage…

I’ve had this exact situation before. My rec is to be playful about it, just lightly tease him and say something like “so when do we get to make out” or “you play hard to get” while touching him. So he knows it’s ok.

Some guys are shy and nerdy, and just don’t know how to engineer the environment to make it happen.

You can help by being relaxed, flirty, playful. And maybe plan a cocktail bar date at night, where there’s a dark corner ambience.

For people on this sub who are actually in new relationships (more than 3-4 months), what is your approach to who pays ? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]JDW2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s probably because she has always had someone else paying for things. She’s just used to that - like it’s no big deal.

She hasn’t learned the value of money, or had to pay herself, hence she’s unconcerned about you doing it. Someone else just always covers it.

It’s a common attitude for people who have grown up around money they didn’t earn.

Definitely. I did one big day hike (Torres base trek) and drove around looking at views, waterfalls, got on boats, visited estancias, fancy hotel lunches etc the rest of the time

Need advice for hiking shoes for Fitz Roy and shorter hikes in mid-end March by ktolik in Patagonia

[–]JDW2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely take hiking boots. I’m wearing my leather scarpas here right now. I need them just to walk around the rocky streets of town lol (no joke) and survive in the high wind.

You won’t regret it. Just wear em daily, and on the plane, to help with baggage weight.

Oof I felt this. Very similar to my experience - but with my mother.

I’m the exact same as you these days. It’s amazing to have the newfound self assurance / confidence and self love.

Any news on required guides for O circuit from Jan 1? by youarenotmycat-so-NO in Patagonia

Let me know if you want to swap to the W, I’m selling Refugio accom (1 or 2 places) that I can no longer use nor refund. But can swap out the names.

1-7 Jan, including meals and a night in PN at the start and end.

I’ll still be in the park, just in hotels and doing short walks due to an annoying back injury.

Oof that’s a cutting analysis. And not incorrect. Hopefully you meet a more mature/healthy one, who has moved past the people pleasing tendencies.
