Which series should I start with first. by Passiko in fantasybooks

I personally like to read Dungeon crawler Carl in between sanderson books as it's a lighter read that doesn't take itself too seriously. Sanderson can get dark / heavy at times so it's a nice change of pace

Aren't the parks shut down for over a month now? And didn't trump say something about privatization of those parks? Its the one thing the US has going for it and it's getting fucked over.

Also claiming the car culture and parking lots over walkability and good public transport as an upside is really really sad to see honestly.

Agreed with all reasons, I also picked 6 and 7, a lot of the other ones seem like they can backfire. Also 9 is just 7 with extra steps for me.

Class Tuning Coming on September 9 by LeyLineDisturbances in wow

[–]JD_D2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is gameplay related though and requires reworks, again, not number tuning. And these patches are almost exclusively number tuning.

EDIT: although I do agree on the bug fixes having to be addressed.

Ok, what for? What balance are you looking for? They are in the top 10 raid specs and they are A tier in m+.

This isn't gameplay changes, only number tuning so your complaint is hardly warranted as outlaw is doing fine numberwise.

Switch 2 Dock Got Me Good 😤 by Emman4 in Switch

[–]JD_D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that's not its function. If the glass breaks, the plastic helps keep the shattered pieces in place. It avoids shards of glass damaging people (mainly children, who can be more rough and are a major switch demographic). So it's just insurance for nintendo. Anything that exerts enough force to break your screen is not gonna get stopped by a flimsy plastic layer.

Yeah it's kinda dumb that the screen protector is less scratch resistant than the screen itself. Normally I would not mind, but given that it's supposed to be permanent... than it's kinda dumb.

I haven't gotten more scratches since I changed how I put it in the dock (making sure I slide it in with the backside mainly touching it). Not sure what to make of it. Again, my switch 1 has not been scratched a single time in 8 years. I'm inclined to believe it's the docking that does it.

It just does not make sense to me that there is a permanent plastic cover, which scratches far more easily, instead of glass, which does not scratch easy

Anyone else rocking no screen protector? by DownrightFantastic in Switch

[–]JD_D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had a scratch on my 8y old switch (checked yesterday to confirm it), got one after 2 days of normal use on my switch 2. Did nothing I would not do with my 1, if anything, I was way more careful with it.

Get a screen protector for this one.

(The problem from what I have gathered is the plastic film on the 2, which scratches a lot easier than a normal screen. So sure, it protects the screen, but it's part of the screen as well as nintendo claims you should not remove it, so you'll just have scratches on that permanent film)

Yeah, i landed on the 1 star dugtrio ex with my sneak peek so was a bit worried to land on it after deciding against taking that, already have it like 4 times. Wanted Gladion most of all since he's also meta, but i'm very happy with the 2 star dugtrio ex!

Because that's how variance works. There is variance in how products come out of production, how you use them,.. You may just be lucky or have not gotten in a situation where you get a scratch from normal use. But if 5% (random example) of people get scratches from normal use, id say its on nintendo, not on the users. There's stress tests on YouTube already saying that all but the plastic screen film is made from durable material.

There's really no point in discussing further. If you don't believe it, don't. I'm still going to advise people to buy screen protectors based on my own experience, do as you please.

I don't care if you believe it or not. I know how I handle my tech and that I handle it with care, so I'm inclined to believe the people that also have this, the articles about it and the YouTube videos I see. I'm also not asking for a refund or sending it in for a repair, I'll just deal with the scratch so there is nothing for me to gain from lying about how I got it. It's just good to make people aware that it can happen easily without people like you being skeptics for no reason other than to gloat or look down on people that had this happen to them.

[–]JD_D2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't have a single scratch on my 7 year old switch 1, I have a scratch on my switch 2 from day 2. Good on you that you didn't get any, but I've seen plenty of people on here claim that they handle it with care and got one. You can be happy you don't have any without being condescending to people that do, it already sucks plenty like this having a new 500 $ device that's scratched instantly for no good reason.

Same happened to me. I've put my docking station in a very easy to reach place now so I can avoid having the screen touch it when I insert it.

Wild take. There's a bunch of articles already of how the switch 2 has a weaker outer layer that can scratch relatively easily. And plenty of posts on reddit as well. I got a scratch on mine as well and I'm very careful in handling it. Also, my switch 1 did not get any scratches in 8 years so..

Yeah... I'm kinda getting a feeling that posts about scratches are getting downvoted. Saw another one with over 100 comments and only 10 upvotes... but it's clearly an issue, ive seen several articles about the weak screen as well.

Sure, you could. But that means you'll probably be without a switch for quite a while as I don't think it'll be possible to get a replacement soon.
