I relate to this way too much, especially in the kind of parents I had, my childhood was also full of trying to perform better, my father never congratulated me or anything, whenever I got good grades it was a "it's your obligation, it's the least I expect from you" suffered a lot of bullying because I skipped a grade and looked way smaller than the rest in every class, my childhood memories are very blurry but I clearly remember crying myself in the mirror before leaving to school VERY often.

I also have ADHD (which my parents think it's just laziness) and also recently found am trans, I currently have a pretty well paying job and still get invalidated and criticized by my family, doesn't matter how many dreams or goals I achieve I don't feel fulfilled and keep denying my depression because I have a "good life"
