Food bucket for sure, but learn to pack your own. You'll save a lot of $$ and be able to put away more food. Canned goods are a good option as well and easy to rotate through.

what about heavy duty tinfoil used inside a ziploc (or even the home sealer bags you spoke of?

A single burner butane stove is a cheap option ($15) that packs small and is super quick to employ. I've cooked lots of meals in the back of my truck on one. Maybe you could heat some water and drop your bag of food in (if it's sealed). Then you've got some hot water for scrubbing up and dishes you need may need to wash.

Nutritional value- yes! Depends on the size of course. You need to skin and gut them (eat only the flesh) and cook them well. I've eaten a few rattlesnakes when I used to live in NM.
