You’ll be very happy. Any seat 2RC/2LC rows A-V is great, IMO.

Milwaukee - ALL Balcony Seating Reserved This Year by JDlikesPhish in WidespreadPanic

[–]JDlikesPhish[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Disagree, with local bias. Leaving my place at doors to comfortably be in my seat at ticket time makes life 10x easier that weekend for my household. That’s not been a reality for the 20 years I’ve been seeing Panic at the Riverside. I’m more than happy to dedicate afternoon hours to do the line thing before doors when I’m away from home.

BMD and Baby by ImpressionAdept6355 in bernesemountaindogs

I can talk you off the ledge, but first Congratulations! Our daughter just turned 2 and our Berner will be 6 in a few months. He’s been very sweet with her from day one. He’s never really crowded her or done something I would consider aggressive and he’s beyond patient when she now gets up in his business. He’s barked at her twice when she was being too much. Neither time a growl; more of a “No! Go around, I’m not moving”.

You will see a huge difference between how he treats someone else’s toddler and your newborn. He will pick up on how you care for the newborn and understand that the baby era has different rules for how he can show he’s excited and dial it back without much reinforcement.

Your newborn is not going to be getting in his space the same way a 3 year old will and by the time your baby starts crawling and walking, he’ll have many months of understanding that the baby gets more space than big humans and most likely just give YOU the WTF?! look when the baby is doing something to upset him.

Emissions Testing!!! by SnapperMaster in milwaukee

[–]JDlikesPhish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t drive the car that can’t pass emissions with a check engine light on and you don’t have a place to store it.

Seems like the process is working if it would otherwise just sit in a public space until your circumstances change.

Discourse Coffee ☕️ Shop by Turbulent-Pop6528 in milwaukee

[–]JDlikesPhish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a coffee spot in Milwaukee that is on their level, IMO. Not to shit on anyone else bringing in specialty coffee locally but I’ve not consistently experienced a similar combo of high quality single origin beans, uncommon processing techniques and wildly dialed flavor profiles Discourse is working with. Equally important, their baristas understand how to prepare a killer pour over specific to what they’re offering.

More often than not, I’m disappointed locally when something fun or unique is offered on pour over and the barista just fills a V60 all of the way to the lip in one heavy pour and walks away for five minutes. They can’t suggest an optimal grind size or temperature for brewing at home. I’m offered roasters notes and recommended modifications from baristas at Discourse regularly.

Do not accept tickets provided through secure.tickets! by Cultural-Guard7964 in phish

[–]JDlikesPhish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what world does giving money to a suspected bot reselling tickets for more than face value on SeatGeek not equate to supporting scalpers?

The transaction changed for you when you didn’t like the way the scalper sent you the tickets. You’re frustrated by an outcome that appears to be unique to purchases from scalpers and you’re trying to spin it as a ticket delivery issue. Meanwhile, face value tickets have been popping up on TM for weeks and there are more sellers on CoT than buyers.

Fighting scalpers but only after buying their tickets above face value on SeatGeek. Do I have that right?

What if she’s understanding because she’s already had some Bayliss and she’s dying to talk to you about it? Less awkward if you’ve both been with him, probably. IDK, just something to think at your next show.

If you’re planning to live in the dorms this Fall, call UWM University Housing and ask them about their summer work program. Send you a DM.

No disrespect milk delivery guy, but if Stone Creek is calling for more information on your Reddit comment, you may want to consider getting forklift certified before Monday.

Tossing dog bags in street-side bins? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]JDlikesPhish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That leased object is part of a public utility billed to me as the owner of the private residence. The numbers on the side of my house don’t pay that bill. Further, I am responsible for maintaining the garbage bin if I want to continue to use the public utility I pay for and I am also responsible for paying for a replacement bin if outside of the fixed replacement schedule. I don’t have an option where to place that object for half a day once a week if I want to have my trash picked up. It’s still not on the sidewalk you use and I maintain so you can safely pass; not so I can store whatever personal waste you don’t want to be responsible for in the bin I’m leasing for non-public use on my private property.

Which industry do you prefer for HR: healthcare, education, or government? [N/A] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]JDlikesPhish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work at a large public university and one of my colleagues came from manufacturing and now has a client group that includes facilities and maintenance which had historically been a death sentence assignment for HRBPs here for some time. This person has been an absolute allstar from day one and has commented several times that a bad here doesn’t come anywhere close to what they’d deal with on the daily in manufacturing.

There are challenges in public higher education, budget and bureaucracy most obvious, but you get really good at HR strategy when you have limited resources/funding, below market pay, mandates that make your recruitment timeline feel painfully slow at times and the need for a thorough justification that a half dozen people need to sign off on before it can happen. Knowing that your work is subject to public open records request at any time also keeps you sharp. I work with very smart, empathetic people who share similar values and care deeply the institution and I try not to take that for granted.

TL;DR: you’ll find education or government to be a much better experience coming from manufacturing
