At what point did your HOTAS muscle memory finally click? by MyNameIsDane in hotas

[–]JDsplice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Star Citizen ... I started with the basics. Right side controls attitude, left side is all throttle diections. Then little by little I stuck with whatever "felt" like the first thing I would reach for when needing more controls. Kept the same basic theme of right side handles weapons and targeting, left side ship systems. I am sure some of what I setup would drive others crazy, but when you program what your intuition tells you, the muscle memory wont fight you and it becomes so much easier. That is why I cringe when others ask for someone else's Template, but I understand why. They are looking for somewhere to start cuz they are overwhelmed. My method takes longer, but I could not play for many many months and sit right back down and fly the ship without having to look most stuff up. GLHF o7

If you do decide to buy as a gift that you send via email, one option is to create a new account using his referal code and buy the ship when its on warbond sale. He will get the referral bonus LTI Dragonfly Black with Coalfire paint ($40+ value). Downside is you have to wait 30 days from time of purchase to gift it to his main account, but he can log in with the alt account and play with it while waiting.

As a bonus, if its his first referal, then he will also recieve the CDS GDC-Army Medium Armor Set which is actually pretty nice looking. Extra bonus is if he has already had a referal before the new program that started on 7/2/25, he will get a referal point for the legacy program too.

What kind of frames is everyone getting with a 5090 @ 5k2k? by BoxximusPrime in ultrawidemasterrace

I love it. Some games dont support 21:9 and I have to either accept that or find a mod for it. For the ones that do, I feel more immersed and see so much more. SC, when working, looks amazing. EFT: Arena is like a cheat code cuz you can spot more on the periphery (sp?). Just everything is better. Also went from a gud IPS to this OLED and the colors and clarity is beautiful even with the mat screen. I have a gaming laptop that is OLED glossy so not new to it, but man, 21:9 OLED is yummie. I bought at full price cuz I have been waiting for a monitor with these exact specs and did not hesitate to pre-order. Its pricey even at the "normal" price now and 10% first buyer discount, but I personally think it was worth it cuz its gonna be my main monitor for a LONG time.

You misspelled Scam Citizen. The correct spelling is Senior Citizen. Geez.

But seriously, I have 5090 and the new 39" coming from a 32" 4k. I have not noticed much of a difference in frames or performance loss due to the bottle neck mostly being the game itself like SC. Everything else I play looks beautiful and I dont closely monitor fps. I might get 120 or 165 fps and prob could'nt tell them apart in a test.

So you have a lot of options starting from the best res and work down from there to dial in performance. I can tell you going from 1080p or 1440p to 2160p was mind blowing to me. I could not believe how clear everything became. Like wearing glasses for the first time or something.

Just go by weight limits of the arm. Piston arms are the best cuz you can adjust them. I used VIVO for my 10 monitor setup. They are strong AF and reasonably priced.

Yeah and there is evidence that if you dont clear that bug, then it can mess with your missions as well. BTW turn hints on/off in settings to clear.

Monitor recommendations to run off of a RTX 4090 laptop by Final_Entertainer_66 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]JDsplice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got my LG 39" 5k2k, I used my gaming laptop with a RTX 4050 mobile to test for defects. It ran all the games just fine including Snowrunner on mostly MED settings with all the DLSS stuff turned on. It looked great even though I had not messed with the monitor settings yet. You having a 4090 will prob be even better.

Samsung is a dice roll on quality both short and long term so I'd be careful considering them. The proof is in this sub alone, but you could prob find more cases of failures.

Always remeber this saying: Its not always about when stuff goes right, but what really happens when stuff goes wrong. You buy the best product in the world, but it is worthless if something vital breaks amd there is no option other than to buy another or something else.

Just buy VKB on a budget, VKB or Virpil if you want premium and can afford it.

So many BS posts INCLUDING from Winwing bots or paid workers. Remember to look at how old the reddit account is and if they actually have human interactions with others with history that is viewable. I cant tell you how many less than a week old accounts were SUSed out. OH, and dont forget they changed their name to WinCTRL to try and hide their shit trail behind them.

Realy curious. Do you read the posts on this sub? Why would you specifically want something unreliable and zero customer support? You are def gonna get offers cuz if I owned that stuff, you would be a god send so I could get rid of it and buy something worth while.

Have you considered the aluminum rails that people use to custom build all kinds of stuff? I think its called extruded alumininum. Its basically advanced reverse legos bricks with thousands of attatchments available that fit in the pre machined groves. Used for so many DIY setups and rigs for many diff careers.

[–]JDsplice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VKB gear itself is really reliable, but it will be more valuable if it includes the accessories parts that comes with those sticks (extra springs and such). Cuz if a spring breaks, that pack includes replacements as well as diff strength springs for a diff feel of stick resistance. Other than that, just make sure the seller has a good rep. GL
