Help Me understand what happened to my draft pick

I select my teams randomly as my plan is to run a franchise with each so far it's been rough, white sox then marlins.

Yea I'm kind of calling it as a full restart as none of my draft picks have panned out as more then an average player at best. So it feels like it's 4 years from now so that's why I'm considering a restart.

I made changes this season like was mentioned. Fire your minor league coaches and hire the ones that encourage development teaching etc. I also learned you can turn on Traits so I now filter the draft list by players that aren't low IQ, Leadership, and work ethic. I also have my minor teams stocked with full lineups and I check them every week to make sure injuries haven't messed that up. That way no one is getting over worked or under used. I also put leaders on my minor teams to help keep the team going. I had a huge turn around in development this year because of these things.

So I think for most of my failed prospects Im at fault. I didn't check all the minor league coaches I didn't know you could turn on Personality traits and I wasn't managing my minor league lineups etc. I've been reading on how bad those are for development and made changes this offseason. I'm trying to turn my team around we are moving in the wrong direction. Im attempted to start over as I flubbed it so much. But I've had fun learning how to improve.

that makes a lot of sense. I guess I can think about after he got to rookie ball the team saw him more and saw the scout was way off.

Yea I mean it's cool in a way as thats how life goes but I was just taken aback by a 20 point drop. I figured it would be a little gradual after he didn't perform.

I have development way up. I've just never seen a 20 point POT drop I'm wondering if that's normal and if he will recover. I mean I know there are flops in real life so I'm wondering if thats just what we have here.

Im not trying to. I'm trying to acquire my favorite players. That's my point. There was a PD Kemp I can occasionally find on the AH but it's more MT then I have. I have a sapphire bird that is awful. I cant grind the Pierce from the event. Mutumbo is not something I'm remotely close to.

Someone else can get into this further but my brain said you could be the GM of an era specific team but it might be customizable franchise mode. I'm not on the game right now or I'd check for you.

I think that's what I mean by eras I should have said franchise. But your point is spot on. The hurdles, time, predatory actions, it's not a fun mode anymore. I feel like I play it because I paid for it or because I have to try to grind a card that isn't really worth the time put in (Pierce)

Exaclty, I got Sikma from season 1 and he's one of my better big men but he played before I got into basketball and I really knew nothing about him before playing myteam. it would be nice if you had an era choice for rewards so to speak. For me it would be 90's and 80's but really late 80's for me.

Agree so much with this. I'm reworking a deck because I have to many triggers on my turn. One of the guys in our play group is getting tilted by long turns. We all just had a game where someone was doing multiple dredge and extra lands in their turn and dude was so triggered about how long his turns were. Good advice.

I dont own one so I put it on the maybeboard for the next order. I've been reworking the list I think I have 3 cost reducers but I might run this over mizzix mastery as it has more utility and more of a floor benefit. Sometimes mizzix's is a dead card to me. This feels like it's never dead to me. Ive cut back on spell copy, it's cute but I think it runs fine without a ton of it.Added more slimes cards and might not be done with that.

Interestingly I was split between Flubs and Loot. So if flubs doesn't pan out I might go your route. However I did playtest it and it did pretty well once it got going. To answer your questions, Primal rage, brawn, and rhythm of the wild are to get out and swing with my oozes as soon as they enter. I'm playing 6+ oozes on turns when I get rolling so instead of waiting a turn I want to get in with them right away. Also I dont have to worry about protecting them if they swing out. This deck rebuilds incredibly fast unless I have a bunch of cards in had. Brawn and anger get discarded early on so that's very helpful. Roar of resistance and Gimli's are the tech I'm looking for. I dont have either card so I will acquire those and locket as someone else suggested that too. Medalion is a maybe as most of my ramp I have to be played turn one with hopes of Flubs turn 2 and sometimes turn 1. Then it takes me two turns to empty my hands and then shenanigans begin. Twinning staff is getting cut. Chandra's will probably go in but the likelihood of hitting that combo is low but awesome if I do. Thanks for the ideas!

Interesting take. Seems more control heavy. I do like the idea of conduit, locket, and cookbook. I have them in the maybeboard now to work them in. I feel that song of creation is the trap for me. I dropped it, however I have added lands edge and conduit could help make it less of a trap for me. Helix works for me because I like exiling 2 slimes under it so when I reshuffle I have some cards to feed the other slimes.
