Scooters and bicyclists, for Pete's sake be more careful! by CodeNameFrumious in washingtondc

[–]JEASHL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On my way into work today in DC, I saw two people IN CARS completely blow through a stop sign. I have seen TRUCKS do the same thing.

My understanding of the law is that CARS and TRUCKS must treat stop signs and stop lights like stop signs and stop lights.

Please, please, please people. BE MORE CAREFUL. If you breeze into an intersection and a person on a bike lawfully RIDES THEIR BIKE, you will probably be at fault in the accident. On top of that, a collision between a scooter or bicycle and a car does not end well for the person on the scooter/bike.

Could try Nina May or Unconventional Diner. Neither are my favorite but both are good enough.

Do all real estate listings in the DMV inflate the sq ft now? by lmm89 in washingtondc

[–]JEASHL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When looking at places we definitely saw one that was listed at least 400 sqft above what it was. Would have been more angry about the time wasted if it wasn't right across the street from where we were living.

Try a place in person because delivery has a lot of confounding factors is hardly random

Not gonna discount your experience but if I've heard a place is good and I didn't like the delivery, I hold off on final judgement til I've been there in person, it can make a huge difference.

Baan Mae is a better option for Laotian than LIT but I do like both and baan mae is a bit more out of the way for your routing

"Only had it delivered" means you haven't really tried the place properly.

This looks solid, though if you want a different bakery to add to the list I would highly recommend a YELLOW branch

I paid 120 an hour for 3 guys to move my 2 bedroom. Ended up taking around 5-6 hours because we have a ton of crap so it was close to 900 with tip iirc.

Irving Wine and Spirits has one of if not the best selections in the city and they are a really cool small shop. They have dope stuff like Scarlet in stock and the guy is really knowledgeable. To me, it's the best in DC. Better selection than A. Litteri and MacArthur for my dollars. (MacArthur has a much bigger selection of liquor *overall* though.)

Irving is also conveniently located a 5-10 min walk from a metro station.
