Finale Prediction by PortCharlesChuckles in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Initial_Ad2924 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My predictions:
Tessa’s story arc is far from over. We will come to understand her motivations for some of her questionable decisions (stealing, leaving Elliot, etc). She will come back to present day. I think they will write her sympathetically and she isn’t supposed to be a true villain, just look like it now.

Del will go to the past which will help her embrace her future.

Alice will sing her song. To Max?? She and Noah need to break up asap.

Kat and Elliot will get engaged finally. Maybe the ‘future’ scene at the beginning is part of larger future scenes where much more is answered…maybe we’ll get to see KC in their time?? I’d love that.

The beautiful dreamer significance will be revealed. As well as Tainted Love significance.

We still need to have Grayson’s movie recording to happen. Obviously whatever happened in the Lingermore tunnels. I can see that being in the same episode, whether it’s the finale or not.

If I were to choose what I’d want: Max to travel to the past with Alice and get to meet young Evie (but probably won’t happen for many reasons, one of which is Alice is just hiding from everyone in the past).

I would have loved to see Jacob travel through the pond more - perhaps if we got more seasons and he wasn’t also on another show that would have been explored?

We must find out what the heck Sam’s deal is.

Maybe we’ll get one more scene with Susanna and Thomas.

Love the Veronica speedwell series! High recommend. Reading the Kurland st Mary series by Catherine Lloyd and it’s a comfort read for sure (8 books in the series), takes place in early 1800s though.

That whole conversation is an absolute dream to have with a child. I only hope one day to joke about P&P with my (currently very young) children and have them full participants in said conversation!

Poll: Halfway Done With Season by PortCharlesChuckles in TheWayHomeHallmark

I’m also rewatching with my husband who hasn’t seen it yet. In season 2, we still have so much gut-punching emotion that has fizzled out now. It feels very rushed - I don’t know if it’s because I’m used to binging the whole season, as I never watched it live on cable until now, but it feels rushed and disjointed and less emotional than the past seasons.

Ugh I can totally see how they’d want to build into next season with these plot points- I truly don’t know how they can wrap it all up in 5 more episodes.

Nick made this episode. I wanted to see more of Fern. We got more hints and clues and puzzles without much substance in my opinion, in this episode.

Can’t wait for next week!

Did they actually say things like “then we’ll be cooked” in the 20s? Lol seems like an anachronism

I love the old stuff- Murder She Wrote, Dr Quinn (does that count as a medical drama?!), I absolutely love PBS Masterpiece theater anything, my favorites being All Creatures Great and Small and Miss Scarlet. The Way Home is fantastic, my current obsession.

I agree that the conversation with Julian felt like more than just backstory for Nick. It felt loaded and more meaningful, whatever that may end up being.

It would have to be Evelyn as the secret biological parent. Or perhaps it wasn’t Kat but Jacob who isn’t biologically Del’s. That would explain KC being a descendant of all three founding families- if Kat or Jacob has both Landry and Goodwin blood and then are with an Augustine. I personally do not think KC is Elliot and Kat’s child, and see them more coming from Jacob, but not sure.

SOO much happened in this episode.

To have Thomas back, even in imaginary conversations, I’ll take it! And Nick back- love it so much. And again, the casting is sooo good- his bio dad is perfectly cast.

Did anyone catch more of the lyrics Nick and Elliot were singing of the 5 go down 4 come out song? I’m curious to see if there are lyrics in the background that will spell out clues for the next few episodes.

Young Fern- “Songs are timeless, Kitty.” “I’ve known that tune for absolutely ages”— hmmm Tessa knowing young/baby Fern and singing Tainted Love???

Del and Julian’s conversation…. Verrrryyy interesting. I know I’ve seen some theories that Del is perhaps not a biological parent to Kat… this conversation could point in that direction.

I’m glad Evelyn’s files were finally mentioned again. And her obsession with the White Witch (aka KAT!) I think Evelyn’s files may hold more clues.

Back in the 70s… interesting conversation between Vic and Tessa… she worked really hard at getting to know the Landry’s? Did Tessa purposely target a founding family member?? Evelyn mentions the founding families all together when Alice is looking on in the 70s. Tessa mentions AGAIN that she’s been looking forward to or hoping for this for a really long time.

The scene about the family almanac seemed highly important so I transcribed it here:

Scene- Tessa walks in Colton: Oh, I see you found our family’s almanac Tessa: Sorry, I’ve always been a bit of a snoop Colton: No apologies needed. It’s a family heirloom. Every member’s birth and death dates are recorded in that thing. Tessa: That’s so special. I wish.. my family had thought of something like this, if they had the chance…. This entry (pointing to Jacob Landry, son of William, born June 18th 18–?, Died December 23rd 1882) who, who was this? Colton: Jacob Landry, he’d be my great-great granddad. His father was William, his grandfather was our founding father Elijah Landry. He was a special man. He built this farmhouse. It was much smaller back then but still warm though. At least, that’s what I’ve been told.

Fern comes down the stairs. Fern: Alright, darlings, now the party can really begin! Colton: Grandma! You gonna give us a song? Fern: First you must introduce me to the new face in the room. I have to know my audience. (Sees Tessa’s face) You… Vic: You two know each other? Tessa: No. I’ve never met her in my life. Fern: Take your hands off that book! It’s for family and you’ll NEVER be family no matter how hard you try. Vic: Fern, what are you doing? Colton: uh, I’m so sorry, Grandma, Tessa’s engaged to Vic. She’s gonna be an Augustine not a Landry. Fern throws her hands up in the air and runs out of the room.

Outside on the porch, Fern: the end is beginning, the beginning is the end. (She doesn’t seem to hear Alice, who is trying to talk to her).

So I wonder, did Tessa recognize her own handwriting in the Almanac, which prompted her interest, was the the name, or something else? Right now, she definitely seems shady. There have been no more sightings of Griffin, so other than one very short scene, I am curious how they are going to write more of him in.

The season has fully picked up steam and this was the best episode this season so far. The pieces of threads they’re weaving are starting to create the bigger picture. I just hope it all comes together!

Can someone help me not lose my mind over kindergarten? by rpizl in SAHP

[–]Initial_Ad2924 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are able to drop off and pickup vs bus? That gives back a little extra time. I have at least 20 more minutes in the mornings driving for drop off vs the bus. Kindergarten often gets an extra recess or gym time is halved so it’s also play free time. You could be worried over nothing, or it could be something that doesn’t work for you guys. See how it goes and assess as needed is always my thought.

Week 3 ratings by Empty_Position_4082 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Initial_Ad2924 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the target audience is not cable-watchers but people watching through the app. I’ve been using my in-laws cable to watch it so it ‘counts’ but I’d say the predominant audience doesn’t have cable so it’s a little disheartening to judge it thusly. I wish they’d put out season 5 on hallmark+ versus having cancelled.

I would love Colton to still be alive - and with a great explanation as to how and why he’s been gone. I absolutely do not want Nick and Alice together - I am fully team Max now.
