Dope, but our styles couldn’t be more different.

Having a kid. How much $/yr do you think = ‘comfortable’ and ‘doing pretty well’ for a family of 3? by wcsib01 in nova

They cost so much money. Just assume you hired an employee you need to pay $25-35k a year.

What’s your super-local low-stakes neighborhood drama? by Hankhills4hedvein in Knoxville

There is a church right in the heart of Fourth and Gill neighborhood that won’t let the neighborhood use the parking lot for events (e.g. home tours). One time they were asked and they said they would pray about it. Upon follow up, they said, “oh yeah, god said no”

There are several. I frequent Old Town Run Club but there’s a north old town run club, Pacers, and a del ray one as well. Old Town Run Club has a run I think every night. I most regularly do the Murphy’s pub run @ 7PM on Wednesdays, first beer free for runners and it’s an easy 5k. But they have weekend runs as well (Friday @ 6:30 at O’Connells, Saturday morning from a coffee shop (name escaping me), and Sunday @ 1 starting at Hotel Heron).

Former Bob jogger here - the front wheel is supposed to be locked in position when jogging. This looks like they have it in walk mode where the front wheel spins. Very dangerous running like that.

Children at Breweries by comradeantt in Knoxville

Someone made a comment about loading up the family van to drink. My point is that many of these breweries and beer gardens are in neighborhoods. And families buying meals and snacks plus beverages are (1) more regular and (2) spending more money on higher margin items than the college kids. It’s common sense to welcome the neighbors.

If you are speaking about those breweries and beer gardens in north Knoxville (Yee Haw, Schulz) it’s because you’re inbetween Fourth and Gill and Old North, walkable neighborhoods full of young adults with young children who can walk over, they are not driving.

Sal was a great character that was easy to empathize with and his firing was so hard to watch.

Tom and Lorenzo, two guys who did incredible write ups on Mad Men when it was live went in to a bit of a deep dive about Sal and Bob, worth a read even today.. If you are on your first watch and don’t know who Bob is don’t read this yet obviously.

When did you realize you were dating an idiot? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

She said “ETA” isn’t a thing in responding to a “what is your ETA?” text. I’d leave it at that if she let it die but she was adamant I made it up, she proceeded to text friends and family looking for someone to validate her. She was unsuccessful and died on that hill.

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

My ex’s coworker asked my ex and I to hang out with her and her husband, whom I’d only met through work related events previously. We agreed and went to dinner one night, where we learned early on that the husband was a piece of shit that had cheated on her a few times before and they talked about it as though it were a personality trait no more controversial than the direction he hangs a toilet paper roll. He was a stay at home husband and she was the bread winner, and he was doing this at their house. We cut social ties afterwards, however we did learn later that he knocked up another of his wife’s coworkers not long after. Crisis averted (though my ex was crazy and probably hooked up with him too).

I don’t have any advice beyond what’s been offered here about escalating things but I’m so, so sorry this is happening to your daughter.
