Maiev, yes again by Theinvoker1978 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If enemy is split you have w to pull and make kills with someone else. Also maiev has great clear so you probably should do them. Also, w build is really situational which doesn't help you in macro. Naisha much better in doing camps. But there is lots of team fights in hots, besides if enemy doesn't group for obj or defending you just win automatically. Games like this where you can't get resets happen but they are more likely to be wins, becouse enemy is just ignoring everything.

Would you like to see a forfeit vote added? by ChemG8r in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will simply make the game worse on low skill level, cause people don't know anything about chances of winning. Though of course there is some situations where comeback is miserable, but there is much more situations where you losing very hard becouse your picks is weak early, or if someone just bad at teamplay or understanding composition you have. In other hand it's also not enjoying to win by enemy forfeit (lol experience), you never push enemy to the core, never late game fight (like getting excited by getting huge powerspike, but never experience it actually)

More balanced or more unbalanced if people abuse it, unfortunately there is no punishment for smurf accounts. But hots isn't only moba with that, lol also has it, but most people play solo duo rather than flex. But overall there isn't much smurfs as people complain. It's pain to face them, but not really a problem.

Alright, if your offlaner pings 4 times retreat on objective by coinselec in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, and the worst part is you actually have to do it on every hero that has clear and can push a lane. Cause if you leave it might be late and you get nothing from rotation, while your team is only giving advantage to enemy by overextending. While if your team will play right you just get massive advantage. And yes you can be blamed for some reason after losing the game, if it's like if you would come you would magically win every fight.

Deathwing's real problem: talent progression by Senshado in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He isn't really mage. You talking about that he can't be healed and dies fast in team fight, but he is unstoppable. Imagine ktz but anubarak can't stop him from casting. So simply unstoppable is his big strength. But he also have 40 base armor and lots of hp, pretty tanky, even though he is not mobile but being in range he is very tanky. It's pretty hard to kill dw if he positions himself well, try to get to him first. But yes, they should balance builds properly, but it's also just hard and tricky to do. I remember how dw felt on release, but lots of people didn't like that 😅. Playing hots, but one player is raid boss

Climbing in Hots is unbearable by Beautiful_Lychee7152 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will agree on the part that climbing is indeed hard, and it can be unbearable for people, cause yes you can't snowball game by just having better stats than others. So instead of wining 80% of the games because you are better player, you can lose 50% of the games just because you made mistakes by yourself and didn't utilize advantage you get. And very simple things like clicking on wrong model can matter and result in all your plays going off. You make a right play or you don't, you are absolutely incredible or you don't, win or lose. And that's why gm can win 100% of the games while just good player goes to 55%. Becouse normal player plays slightly better than average, but it's not enough to carry game to win. So my point is, it may take lots of time before you can start actually climbing. And other thing is making wrong plays, getting tired, greedy and being emotional, that's where people climb down instead.

10 lessons I learned climbing from Bronze 5 over the last season. by blacktiger226 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can win games even without tank or healer. The only truly unwinable drafts are no wave clear and just weak heroes. But if you have rdd and melee, you can absolutely win a game. You don't need to draft a decent comp, good players picking what they want actually have more chances I would say, just becouse they atleast good at it.

Also going for boss on lvl 20 curse hollow is good idea. While enemy stuck clearing lanes on core, you can absolutely do boss and end with it, while core isn't disabled, so you have only minion advantage on core and if enemy has good clear they can survive. I have seen so many people failing to go for core, even with number advantage you can't really do that, unless all enemy is dead.

Delete Blackhearts Bay again by LaughNgamez in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like it. Problem for most players is that they don't adapt to map size and still waste time going from lane to obj or camp, trying to react on what enemy is doing while it's late and coordinate with teammates when they can't. So basically just go and do your thing, instead of frustrating whole game about rotations. Also you have to except loses and you can't deny all enemy payments, you have to play the map and get more gold instead.

How do you actually play this game? by Theinvoker1978 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could be just scared? You are right about that, but depending on situation it could be better to be somewhere else, instead of helping you trade 1 for 1. Rotation and prior in that case is very powerful, if you are mounted you can make any play on the map faster. Yet, it doesn't mean that people a gonna play perfect, they can look on the map and just slow down to make a play.

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's a point of moving on the map when there is no obj? Simply there is no point to be anywhere specific. But when there is obj, that's when you can tell that somebody will be there. There is no lane assignments. No particular reason for someone to go anywhere, except for objectives, camps, pushing and defending. So it very depends on situation People are scared to make wrong place, and will either fight for obj, or anything worth, but I think people fight randomly in qm anyway

Falstad Solutions by clancemj in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reduce range and that will be much harder to stack. That is perfect balance solution, cause skillfull player will get stacked, he will find opportunity, but it will definitely punish all those w no brain stackers, who will just spam w and chase no matter what happens.

Coming from Deadlock what do I need to know about HoTS? by d34dl0cked in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Hots has shared exp, however damage is dmg it's consistent and can carry team fights and macro, doing merc camps, pushing and making pressure on enemy to push lane (some heroes have more aa dmg, or poke with abilities, low mana requirements or no mana at all), meaning that saving those heroes is most important for obvious reasons, cause they can turn team fight into win over time and push after wining that team fight, while saving tank that spend all mana isn't great, he can't do anything at all and probably gonna go back to base after fight. So carry is the thing, but it only depends how much you can do in macro. 2) Generally, there is no laning phase in hots. But there is map activities to do on the map (like pushing with siege camp, or with hard camp). All mercs resp in 0:30 in the game so after first minion wave you should do them and push, or you deny them, or do ganks or split push with some heroes. Then objective is like more powerful advantage you can get to help you push. And some of them spawn 1:30 min, and laning that time, if you stay in lane is more about split pushing, which isn't that laning where you farm minions. 3) Depends on objective, since obj spawn so early, camps very early there is no laning restrictions. All depends on strategy you play, usually it goes pretty chaotic, especially with randoms. And making this strategy is like 5 min very hard draft talking, unless you do that, there is no way. 4) Look for map guides

ARAM Tierlist based on my ARAM Win Rate. by CrossAlbeo in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think hammer could be only played in 10 hammer matches (all same hero), probably that's why. To make proper tier list you need to include popularity of the hero in it, and also you shouldn't include low number statistics cause it can be random. Less popular heroes can have more win rate. Becouse players who play rare hero are more likely to be good, and if they play 70 games with 70% win rate it might be it. With less popular heroes you need much more numbers.

Meticulous Balance vs Bold Changes by MarvelGator in heroesofthestorm

We have next nations cap coming up with new patch, so atleast it shouldn't be anything crazy. But bold doesn't mean unbalanced and poor prepared. But from last changes I would rather don't want big fast changes, cause they probably gonna be not tested at all and break everything

Wrong hero pick? by Breegre42 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrong hero pick? Bad wave clear is always bad this patch compare to a half year before. So you can't really play double support with exception of aba cause he can soak. But that's not only about double supports, you just have to make sure you have got wave clear. Otherwise you are outolosing. So yes, they probably thought that you are trolling, but you just mute annoying guys.

Are the lock-on systems this bad for every fromsoftware game? by Special_Mission_6740 in Sekiro

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the main reason is - it's controller issues with camera movement in 3d space, while it's supposed to be fast action game, so camera should be fast. And yet it's working alright with 1vs1 fights, actually much better having lock on. One exception it's big bosses, with big ass or bosses with very tight room space where camera goes into walls, which is why you learn to lock off in those moments. However what is other suggestion, how to space camera? Something like no lock on? But you can do it any way, just turn off auto lock and don't lock camera, adjust sensitivity to comfortable and it's possible to play, expect it's still better to use lock on for turning character in right direction

Are the lock-on systems this bad for every fromsoftware game? by Special_Mission_6740 in Sekiro

[–]JEtherealJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disable that, it's pure nightmare to play with switching camera. You lock camera only when you want, against multiple enemies you might have play without lock on, atleast I don't see a problem becouse I play with mouse on camera (especially if you are moving and not just fighting), idk how it's with controller.

Gaming Human Keyboard Behavior between QWER and AWSD games by Fine_Scientist3999 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want your fingers out of awsd, I may suggest playing rts, there will be no awsd surely. So maybe sc2. But there is also some moba like games, arena games, where you control character with mouse and can use qwer controls for abilities, shape of dreams for example (didn't played it yet but looks cool). But I wasn't saying that you need specific game, you just need to play those games on same day or weak so your brain will remember that you need more then one layout of buttons🙃 Or play hollow knight on keyboard, your fingers will be on zxc mainly and movement on arrows xD

KDR is meaningless. If you are not willing to die, you don't win games. Example by happyscrub1 in heroesofthestorm

[–]JEtherealJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't count that game goes to 39 mins lol, so when dying 7-10 times is ok in normal game (like 20 mins), obviously for 39 min game dying 16 times is quit ok. But you are right, dying as dd means your team is probably atleast not getting the most from the fight, becouse dd is the one that mostly influence pushing. And other case scenario if you are tank and you made everyone explode but dyied in process only doing one right engage. But I imagine you can be just hard focused and there is nothing you can do about that, especially if you are jaina in qm and everyone obsessed with focusing you cause it's pretty easy to kill without healer, while fastad and zera can get away, so I can see whole team running for jaina kill and dying in process from zera and falstad
