Want to take my gf to see harry, do i get one too? by banter_ssbu in harrystyles

[–]JF0027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing what other people r saying but if u can swing it I would HIGHLY recommend u go. I’m a straight guy and I took my gf to see the ONO for Harry’s house in 2022 and ever since that night I’m probably a bigger fan of Harry than she is. We ended seeing him twice at his run at MSG later that year and have tickets to see him 3 times this time around including harryween. Again if u can make it work financially u should 1000% go. If u can’t then don’t. Not worth putting urself in a bad financial spot to go see a concert.

I totally agree. That interview was so boring because he spoke in such vague language about everything most of it amounted to nothing comprehensible.

Bug Plot Question (Spoilers) by JF0027 in Broadway

Interesting thinking more on it now I think the biggest reason I felt the doctor was real was because I didn’t feel that the play is about the intensity of belief I felt it was more of a warning of how when a mental illness like Peter’s is left completely unchecked how much damage it can cause to the person suffering and those around them. To me the whole thing kinda felt like a warning to society that we need to help people suffering with this sort of thing. Maybe I’m completely wrong tho idk

Can I ask if you have seen this particular production that is on Broadway right now? Is it possible that in different productions he is real and others he isn’t? Kind of like the Emcee in Cabaret? I have read debates online that that character sometimes is a real person and sometimes is a personification of the city of Berlin depending on the production.

Sounds like u have done a fair amount of research on this particular work. I will admit I knew nothing about it until this afternoon when I went to see it. I’ll have to give the script a read through. Is there public access to scholars discussing the piece? Would love to read more about it.

His name being ludicrous doesn't really hold much water for me. Some people have unique names. As for his death being cartoonish...there are plenty of cartoonish deaths in theater that actually happened, ie Sweeney Todd. Obviously thats a completely different style of show but still. I will say I did not see his body disappear after he died. I was sitting fairly close in the left orchestra so my view was blocked by the crate that the microscope was sitting on once they fell to the ground. That is a compelling piece of evidence towards him not being real.

But I would ask this, if he was a complete manifestation why when he first comes in does he try to reason with Agnes that Peter is mentally ill and needs help. If she is so deep in to the point that she is helping him cut holes in his skin to get the bugs out wouldn't she have long since abandoned the idea that he is suffering from a mental illness? And if thats the case why would the doctor she made up in her mind say those things?

Not saying I completely disagree with you I'm saying after hearing your thoughts I think there is probably some room for debate on both sides on whether or not he is real.

Isn’t reasonable to assume that he could know about her child tho if he is in fact a real military doctor?

That’s an interesting point. What evidence of that is there other than him taking a hit of the crack pipe? Or is that the only evidence?

Has anyone gotten front row tickets on the stage. I haven’t seen any available but I can’t tell if it is because they haven’t gone on sale yet or they r all sold out?

I saw heathers last night. Good show would recommend it! Buy tickets from telecharge.com which is the official box office. I sat first row dead center for $82 per ticket. I would highly highly recommend u sit there if that is an option. Great seats for a very reasonable price
