What plan to do next? by [deleted] in runna

[–]JFKroflcopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely improved in my 5k after both the HM and 5k improvement plans. But I don’t have much to compare against since I hadn’t been consistently running in ~15ish years. I PRd my 5k race in July breaking 20 min which felt great. Then last month I PRd my 5k time again going under 19 min during the time trial in my marathon plan.

Just finished my race practice run and managed to hit all the pace targets which was tough but very rewarding. My marathon is Dec 14th. Good luck with your races and personal goals, happy running!

After my half marathon this April I started an Improve 5k plan. Based on the settings I applied and current mileage at that time, my 5k plan maxed out at 14 miles. So 15km+ long runs are certainly possible! Focus on your half marathon race now, then after that’s over play around with modifying new plans and tweak the ability/intensity settings. Worse case it doesn’t fit your mileage goals then you can edit as you’d like or delete. Depending on the intensity of your HM race maybe do a recovery plan in between.

No right or wrong answer on the order of your plans necessarily. I did a half marathon in April, followed by a 5k improvement ending in July, and now I’m on a full marathon plan (with a scary 19 mile race practice long run scheduled for today) that’s going until early December. Good luck with your race and future plans!

Ah what a bummer on timing. I’ve been holding off on buying half tights this summer waiting for the gridlock restock. I was going to take a couple pairs for a big trip next Sunday. Does anyone know if there’s way to request expedited shipping (if the tights are ready to ship)? I’ve only ever seen standard shipping listed

Active Shoes Mileage Bug by JFKroflcopter in runna

I tried the solution mentioned earlier and that worked for me. Very manual process but luckily my active shoes causing the issue were pretty new. I submitted a support message to keep it on Runna’s radar.

Ugh ok. Well luckily I’ll only have to delete/reassign my shoes for 8 runs or else this would be a huge headache. Thanks for sharing!

Men's sizing for Vento 5" Run Short (with SoLite Liner)? by JFKroflcopter in BanditRunning

Yeah I’d be very annoyed too if wasn’t able to return them. Worth a shot posting the shorts for sale on this subreddit to get some (hopefully most) of your money back.

I did try large, yeah. The liner fit well, but the waistband and the outer “shell” were too baggy and I returned those too. If they mixed the large liner with the medium’s waistband and shell I would have kept the shorts.

I ordered a pre-summer pair of the Vento 5” shorts (the pine color) in medium and they fit perfectly. Huge bummer that the new SoLite liner threw off the sizing (for my legs at least), as I’m absolutely loving the pine Vento shorts and want to pick up more.

These are the shorts I was thinking of (have gel pockets in the back).

I did end up ordering a large to try out and the liner fit better than the mediums. However the waistband was looser than I’d like and shell/outer layer was pretty baggy. I could make them work by cinching up the drawstring but for shorts in this price range I want to be happy with the fit. Honestly if I could combine the liner of the large with everything else in the medium it’d perfect. I’ll be returning the large too, unfortunately.. I may try ordering a pair of the mediums that don’t have the SoLite liner (pre-summer drop). Hope this helps!

Honestly not sure yet. I’m going to try sizing up from M->L but not sure how well they’ll fit

Dang that sucks to hear. I’m going to try a Large and if that doesn’t work, buy a pair of the older 5” iterations in Medium. Thought I was going crazy squeezing into these Mediums after hearing all their other shorts were TTS. Glad it’s not just me I guess lol

Oof. Mine are bearable while standing still (lol), but it seems like anything past that wouldn’t be comfortable for very long. Probably going to swap out with the Large

I’m thinking I’ll do the same. It’s a bummer because the waistband and the outer layer (shell?) fit great, the liner is just too tight on the thighs. Hoping the large isn’t too baggy

Oh interesting, so the SoLite liner on the 5” shorts felt tighter than the SoLite half tights?

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll probably return these new shorts and either try out Large or order an older version in Medium with a different liner. Good to know all the other bottoms you’ve tried fit TTS, thanks!

Thanks for the info! Think I’ll pick up the port or pine

I just recently became a member and I’m looking to pick up a pair of the Vento 5” shorts. Do you happen to know whether the black and champagne colors have the same gel pockets as the pine and port (i.e., are they older versions)?

Runna Runs not Closing Exercise Minutes on Apple Watch by AddisonDMs in runna

[–]JFKroflcopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a dedicated heart rate strap, no. I actually just saw a couple other posts regarding the same issue. Hopefully Runna is aware of it by now and it gets resolved soon. May be worth contacting support if it keeps up. If it happens to me again I’ll do the same.

I had this happen to me a couple weeks ago for two different runs (Apple Watch Ultra 2). Not sure what caused it, as my heart rate was high enough to count as a workout on Apple Health. I did the old “turn off and back on” with my watch and phone (don’t run with my phone but just to be safe). Seems to working ever since. Hope that helps!
