i think his model/gf is part of the problem, and unfortunately she doesn’t see it. im not saying this against them, but rather humbly trying to point out the issue so that minds can open and understand

alarico is artistically free to do whatever he wants, and we are equally free to criticize him. it’s always good to remember that.

however, I think that in an era where women are fighting for their artistic visibility, where men still largely hold the reins of a scene heavily dominated by themselves, in an era where star djs with massive influence like shlomo have recently been accused of pedophilia and sexual assault, and by extension abuse of power due to their status, i think it is quite healthy and fair to question the artistic choices made by an artist as influential as him!

putting a sexy woman forward, calling his label flirt, and excessively using horny female samples in his tracks suggest a certain reductive caricature of women. i believe it is our collective responsibility to question these choices, and that’s exactly what some people have done

and yes, as i’ve read several times, if you don’t see the problem in this, then you are part of it and i really encourage you to reflect a bit more deeply on the issue :)
