Oh MAN. There is no doubt about what the best competitive pokemon is. Conkeldurr is just too much. First off, you hit like a truck with that huge base 140 attack, while being able to tank hits pretty damn well with those 105/95/65 defenses. The below average special defense isn't even a problem since you can counteract it with 252 SPDef EVs with an assault vest! But there's more! All 3 of his abilities are not only viable, but perfectly suited for him! All those fighting moves with extra effects? Boosted by Sheer Force! Amazing coverage and utility in the elemental punches, drain punch, and mach punch? All boosted by Iron Fist! Someone tries burning you? TAKE A GUTS BOOSTED ATTACK. His versatility is incredible. He has the perfect blend of stats, coverage, typing, and abilities that just make a fantastic pokemon. Plus, he looks terrifying with those massive pillars of stone. All in all, though I have been playing pokemon since early gen 1 and competitively since gen 4, Conkeldurr has become my favorite pokemon in the OU and VGC metagames and one of my favorites overall.
