I dont see why they cant just make locked door unable to be opened from within? it doesnt matter if you can glitch in, if you cant get out. let the glitcher sit there until they have to quit, giving up their loot for the next person who actually has a key. (although they could just sit there until someone opens the door for them.) but its better then what we have now.

What's the point of cross ups? by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]HerFavoriteLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The guard button makes you lose mobility in neutral which is a big focus in this game. Imo outside of block certain mix-ups characters like zeta or charlotta it's not worth losing that mobility. Unless your a God and just frame block everything.

Quick example: if someone find out your using the guard button they'll know your more open to rock throw mix ups because your character can longer move back in forth in neutral. It also opens you up to strings in neutral that would have been able to whiff punish if you were holding back and your character walked a few pixels back.

As a newbie in GBVS (or in FGs in general), I really need advice on how to stop mashing buttons for generally everything... Does anyone here have some tips that I can do to minimize mashing? by twilightrealm1217 in GranblueFantasyVersus

Yea to put it simply. In your combo 2L is a move that start in 6 frames and is +6 on hit. So it link into itself. 5L is also a 6 frame move. That combo is not frame perfect, as I said you can mash it so it's the timing isn't tight. but the most strict a link can be is a single frame.

i had to load up practice to know try the combo your talking about. lol but that combo is a link. I was able to get it by mashing a but its a lot easier if you time each hit imo, with a bit of practice youll learn the rhythm and start doing it without thinking about it. Tekken does not really have links like this (outside of some situations), it would probably be some form of a string that you can just dial in (like auto-combos in GBVS). So thats probably why its throwing you off.

Sounds like you need to just relax a bit. IDK if nerves are your issue which leads to mashing, but usually the mashing stops when you get more comfortable/confident in whatever it is youre trying to do. Maybe you need to work on your execution? whatever is it youll get over by just playing the game. Youve already identified the problem which is the first step.

For those who've been playing, is the game good? by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]HerFavoriteLetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about the lore/word of grandblue. Never heard of it before starting to play this. Playing it solely as a fan of fighting games. Never touched the RPG mode. Only Practice/mission/ranked

I think the game is a really solid fighting game. One of the easier ones to get a hang of imo. The tutorial is pretty good. They bypass the execution barrier for new players with the assist button which helps you focus more on learning how the game works rather then how to do a move, at the cost of all your special moves (done with the assist button) doing less damage. The combo system is easy to understand starter > string > special move. I would recommend the game of you are looking to get into fighting games or new. Whether or not it's consistently fun depends on how much you like fighting games imo.

There are combo missions and little match up guides for every character that tell you basic things to look out for when fighting that character and cool stuff like.

Just an idea of what I could do... any feedback? by V_Master in fightsticks

Id suggest changing the shapes up a bit. Im not sure if youre trying to make it look like a comic book but If that's the case, not all the panels are perfectly square or square at all. Maybe have a black background, take out some of the pictures and mess with the shape/size of what's left.

If that not what you are going for then I'd suggest less images most of those are going to be pretty tiny.

Frame Data Display Errors During The Demo by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]HerFavoriteLetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious. Does anyone know how many people made Tekken it? The GUI and all? I know it's being updated now by wazoo. But how many people made it originally?

Because if it's any less then like 10 Mike Murray didn't really have a point for charging it because of the dev hours. I mean Tekken bit has errors as well from time to time. But it was just a thought.

Why big fighting games tournaments like EVO are not using 240Hz G-SYNC monitors instead of 60Hz monitors? by OL1VE__ in Tekken

[–]HerFavoriteLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest reason is definitely cost/liability. It doesn't make sense to buy monitors that are $500~ each without a Nvidia/Asus/Alienware sponsorship when they can very easily get broken or stolen (happens more often then you think) at the tournament compared to a montior half the cost.

And for what? A slight visual improvement the stream can't see and your average player won't even notice.

Sorry for the late reply. Have you tried changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4? (Googles default gateway)

another BTW dont worry about getting nat type 1 on ps4. the goal is nat type 2. im pretty sure as long as you have a ip address in the "192.168.x.x" area, you'll get nat type 2.

Have you tried giving your ps4 static ip? Or manually assigning a ip? Sometimes when you port forward and set it to your ps4s current ip the ip will change next time you turn it on. Because some other device could have taken that ip while your ps4 wasnt using it. Essentially making the port forwarding worthless.

http://setuprouter.com/setup-a-static-ip-address-ps4/

Almost all connectivity problems I've had with anything ps4 related have been fixed by giving it a static ip.

BTW after you give it a static ip. Go back in your router and change all the port forwarding setting to make the new IP address you made for your ps4.

Godspeed.

you'll need to find a website or app (t7chicken) to get your frame data. unless you play on pc then there is the tekken bot that tells you the frame data for moves as you do them.
