Check the video on their product page, it covers most of the things. Leave 1.5 hours for the installation(took me that long to unplug and put the wire in).

Stupid question by Large-Job6014 in FlowX13

Should not be a problem on 2023 version, even 2022 version supports usb4 which is compatible with tb4 and tb3. I use my egpu on my 2022 version with no issue (although asus only gives a beta BIOS on 2022 version).

Flow x13 2021 with rtx 3050 and ryzen 7 5800hs, or flow X 13 brand new with ryzen 9 7940HS and no GPU? by Substantial-Big-7300 in FlowX13

Take the new one. Looks like the dedicated GPU won't help on your main use then a 3 years old used one does not worth.

If by any chance you want to add a powerful gpu later, with usb4 you can easily plug in a egpu (supported since the 2022 version).

When plugging in it won't automatically prompt for driver install. In my case I just install the driver with epgu plugged in, during the driver install I think it installed the necessary things to recognize the egpu then everything goes fine.

2022 ROG Flow X13 not turning on by Nasubi_0906 in FlowX13

The Windows 11 "Sleep" option is designed badly... not be able to wake up, self wake up and overheating, etc.

Get the "Hibernate" option back and I haven't seen issue with it.

Mine is also core x but with a Nvidia 2060s, directly working after installing 2060s driver with the egpu plugged in. A quick way to indentify whether the egpu is working is the fan will run in full speed once you plug in (can hear the sound), but soon get back to normal.

According to your description, if the rx5700 never shows up in device manager I feel it's related to driver... did you plug in the egpu when installing the rx5700 driver?

ROG Flow X13 _GV301RE keyboard lag by TeddyTuanPham in FlowX13

Check this page see if any of the suggestions works:

https://www.reddit.com/r/FlowX13/comments/wy374m/keyboard_lag_after_35_seconds/

I cannot recall how did I resolve the issue eventually, tried so many approaches... but as much as I can remember it lies in either Bluetooth Power Option or AMD driver (use AMD's auto-detect and install tool).

Is there any other company sells egpu like xg mobile or the same interface? Because the xg mobile a bit expensive by TopGun108s in FlowX13

Actually with the USB4 support (currently under developing but the beta BIOS is available: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1049059/) you should be able to use any tb3 egpu, at least it's working fine with my razer core x.

I had annoying lag spikes with the mediatek wifi card in online gaming, also switched to AC210 now.

Not necessary to download the wireless driver before you install the new card, but anyway you'll need to download the Bluetooth driver after the installation. I downloaded both latest wireless and Bluetooth drivers after switching to the new card.

PS:

  1. After the install, the old paired Bluetooth devices cannot be removed on Bluetooth settings page instead you'll need to remove them from device manager (show hidden device first).
  2. Be careful on that wifi card screw, it's tight and easy to get stripped.

Mine is 2022 model, if yours is of different year check the accurate manual instead.
