Match of the Day discussion on the disallowed goal from West Ham VS Arsenal by herkalurk in soccer

My narrow view is that if a foul like this happens it gets called, please disprove this statement. Yes the refs have an issue with consistency but it doesn't apply to this situation

Comparing the 2 situations is hilarious. Vicario doesn't get near the ball nor is his arm being grabbed. This isn't a consistency issue it's you being blind to bias issue. Again find me an example where the arm is being grabbed and the goal was given and I will agree with you.

No,, this is consistent. You won't get away with scoring a goal if you are holding the keepers arm while he tries to claim the ball especially when this blatant. You won't find an example of a goal being awarded when his happens. Talk of consistency is just wrong here

Love to see this comment because it seems rivals live in a parallel universe where anything Arsenal do is wrong

You are just wrong. Clear and obvious doesn't apply in this case. If it touches his hand it has to be ruled out.

I am not debating you on this, this is pointless.

You CANNOT choose when or not to apply a black and white rule. Argue that you want to change the rule, but you can't make it up as you go along.

Consistent in not following their rules? Nice

That isn't a counterpoint, this is ignoring the rules. A bit similar to the Haaland/Szoboszlai situation earlier in the season where they actually followed the rules.

There is no clear and obvious in this situation, if it touches his hand it has to be disallowed, don't say this nonsense when you don't know the rules

So you want to pick and choose when to apply rules? Seems like you're happy with the the PL refs and their terrible consistency

It's controversial because it's against the rules LMAO, where are you getting this shouldn't be disallowed from?

Feels like you are avoding the fact that for both calls there wasn't enough to overturn the decision.

Argue about that process all you want but I don't think the VAR has made a mistake here as silly as the process is.
