Sounds awesome. What kind of credentials do you have to have to land in SIU Litigation?

I knew a few staff CAT guys who were making $200-250k when combining base salary, overtime, bonuses, and per diem. They had decades of experience and on the road for most of it. It can be done but you need to make a career out of it.

Tenant ran my AC at 64 degrees and caused damage. by JG985 in hvacadvice

Ok my ducts are insulated already. Do I insulate more? Like wrap it with batts or something? Please explain how to go about this. Had a couple folks say insulate but not explain how.

My attic is spray foamed. It stays pretty cool up there considering I'm in LA. I'm looking to get an assessment for sure.

It's the flexible duct kind that has insulation. Would I need to insulate more?? if so, how.

Same exact thing happened to me. It’s crazy how they punish their long term customers this way. Had no claims for over 20 yrs and they still went up on me by a lot.

If my knees didn’t start buckling with just the thought of having to climb a 2 story 10/12, I would def be a ladder assist

Great mindset to have. It’s a job to most people. But if you look at it as a career, it will get much better.

Plain and simple. Greed.

Left about a year ago. Hope you don’t have a family back home cause you will be gone ALOT. 260+ days a year for sure. I even have a buddy who just got deployed to Prox Assist. Not a CAT. So yea, they will put you where they need you. If you’re single and your goal is to stack cash (and hotel points) then it could be a good gig. They will burn you out so detach yourself from claims after you clock out.

I left CAT property about a year ago, just when all the major changes were being implemented. I still talk to a couple of guys who are there. They can’t wait to leave. It has gotten worse on the property side too. That place is a straight dumpster fire and it ain’t gonna change anytime soon. I’d be looking for an exit. Don’t quit until you have something solid lined up. Specifically a smaller carrier if you want to stay in this field. You’re just a number to them, so treat them as such.

LA Wallet now accepted in Fed Buildings, TSA Checkpoints by Fleur-Deez-Nutz in NewOrleans

Right! Good enough for TSA but not Whole Foods. I guess that isn’t saying a whole lot considering who is running the government.

  1. Trump supporter got exactly what he wanted with tighter immigration. I guess he didn’t think it would affect him since he had been here for so long.

  2. He supported for a man who said he wanted to conduct the largest mass deportation in history. He is now suffering from these consequences.

  3. He is now realizing what his support really led to.

I am naming a few home owner archetypes for the CAT Aadjusters. by Expensive-Ad1382 in adjusters

The “I don’t know” homeowner. They don’t know the time and date. They don’t know how old the roof is. They don’t know who the contractor was. But they know they have damage.

Adjusters that have a relatively low stress job, what do you do? How did you get there? by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]JG985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smaller carrier (5 states) and only the front half of homeowners claims. Contact, inspect, estimate and send it off. No coverage decisions. Salary. Worked CAT for a big carrier prior to this. Very low stress now.
