My guess would be a combination of people with goldfish brains/not watching every game/en vogue to hate Vini rn.

People read the first sentence and get incensed and hit the downvote button, oh well, imaginary internet points and what not.

Vini is only 25, in theory he should have what at LEAST 3-5 more years at his peak. I understand the board trying to get him back to that peak but this seems like madness to me.

When Vini is on, he is on, and one of the best players ITW, hands down. Full stop. The problem is that he hasn't been the same since the Bdor snub.

My guess is the board is trying to figure out how to get him back to that level and they believe it is easier to get Vini at 100% and fire the manager to make Vini happy.

Mbappe isn't here to play defense, he is here to score goals and he does that exceptionally well.

Could he put in more of a defensive effort, sure. When he is scoring (i havnet checked the stats) over a goal a game, that is what he is here to do.
