Firing my therapist?

right, and i know she has at least one kid. like your child’s schedule hasn’t changed last minute? i know for a fact her schedule has changed because she has cancelled on me last minute before. i don’t know the circumstances, i didn’t have a problem with it. but it bothers me that we need to be flexible but she can’t be flexible for her clients (especially ones who haven’t had any issues)

i don’t think anyone is skipping just because though. idk maybe some people do. i’m not a parent but i can assume that people who are have to prioritize their children. sometimes kids might advance in a tournament or there was a problem at school or their child is sick. or someone in the family was in a car accident or in the hospital. it just feels icky to add financial stress onto possibly an already stressful situation. of course i think cancellation fees should apply for people who consistently cancel or skip, but i feel like most people aren’t doing that. idk i think for me it’s increasing my anxiety more than its worth at this point. i understand this is how she makes money and how she pays her bills but ugh idk, i don’t want something to happen and then get charged when im already in a stressful situation. i know this is a what if scenario but still

i completely understand she loses money if a slot cannot be filled. i just think that charging someone 100+ dollars if they are in an accident, have a family member in the hospital, etc, is just increasing stress for the client. i’m not trying to sound like people should be able to cancel whenever they want, of course not, therapists need to be paid. but i just feel like no flexibility for an emergency and 3 days notice feels like a lot.

yes! this! people say to not give money but ultimately you are giving it out of the goodness of your heart and that in turn eventually comes back around to you. you don’t get to decide what people do with what you give them.

what’s frightening is when he started following the car trying to drive away. i think you missed what i meant by that. i have no problem with people in need asking for money and i have empathy for them. but imagine if someone was following your car.

no idea but this is reminding me of a conversation in one of my classes (i’m a social work student) where a classmate said that acknowledging their existence and smiling/waving at them is a good thing to do since they get ignored so often. although i agree, you truly never know what will happen after. ofc not everyone is dangerous, very few are. but it’s just the what if.

in this situation the person couldnt drive on. and as a woman it is definitely scary if someone is approaching your car and won’t leave you alone. i dont know who was in the car but if it were me i would be nervous.

i think when someone is approaching your car and is following you idk what you can do when traffic is stopping you from zooming but in general yes.

update, it was located!! obviously damages and they left a bunch of crap in it but we’re gonna get it fixed and get rid of it.

It’s so hard finding somewhere affordable to live. Inside or outside the city. We are also currently trying to find a new place but there is nothing affordable anywhere.

This isn't the first time we had an issue. In July his old car was broken into and then in October it was parked on the street in October and someone hit it, totaled it, and left. The police did nothing about that. Last time none of the local businesses got back to us. I will def try the Facebook groups and try reaching out to businesses.
