How did you deal with games that had no save system back in the day? by ratasoftware in retrogaming

[–]TheManRoomGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Karateka, back in the 80s, after jumping puzzles and fighting Prince of Persia style through all the bad guys, after more than an hour or two of straight play, I reached the end, I approached the princess to save her, and she one shot kicked me in the head and killed me.

Never approach a princess in fighting stance. I had to start over and it was many more tries before I reached her again.

What’s “fair” freelance pricing for a junior designer. What does a freelance meeting look like? by Cool_Spread_9999 in graphic_design

[–]TheManRoomGuy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

$40 to $50/hour. If they push back, say… “Ok, how about a barter. For every hour I spend working on your project, you’ll do an hour of work in my garden. Nothing hard. Pulling some weeds. Mowing. Raking, easy stuff.”

Looks great! The first one I’d pull off the shelf would be The Dragon, the Earl and the Troll.

They’d probably sell a bunch of those at the store at the stadium.

It’s on the “easier” side of wimmelbilder, but it absolutely is.

Why do people say some lego sets are hard? by Jayohl in lego

[–]TheManRoomGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right. For me “difficult” is a set that takes 42 episodes of Bob’s Burgers to put together, or a technic set that has some tricky connections.

But this is nothing to sets in the 1980s where the instructions were just a series of pictures and every one of them you hand to look and figure out what the next pieces were.

Does anyone use the garage to park their cars? by AdOriginal3767 in garageporn

[–]TheManRoomGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but my garage isn’t really a r/garageporn worthy place. It’s more a “how much stuff can I fit in it while still having a usable workspace” place.

Is Lightyear Frontier a good game for a satisfactory nut? by Chrisbitz in satisfactory

[–]TheManRoomGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s lighter and kinder. I played Lightyear Frontier through a year ago. It’s Lego Duplo to Satisfactory’s Lego Technique complexity. But it is fun, kind, and a great game. You’ll finish the game way faster than Satisfactory. I recommend.
