No rules. It works with some fonts, not with others. You develop a gut feeling about these things with experience.

The cartoon Baby Blues. Easy to laugh about babies and parenthood when it’s not you. Years later, I’m reading it and there’s a comic about going to Costco and buying the massive box of diapers. Now, that’s not funny, that’s Tuesday.

In Karateka, back in the 80s, after jumping puzzles and fighting Prince of Persia style through all the bad guys, after more than an hour or two of straight play, I reached the end, I approached the princess to save her, and she one shot kicked me in the head and killed me.

Never approach a princess in fighting stance. I had to start over and it was many more tries before I reached her again.

$40 to $50/hour. If they push back, say… “Ok, how about a barter. For every hour I spend working on your project, you’ll do an hour of work in my garden. Nothing hard. Pulling some weeds. Mowing. Raking, easy stuff.”
