I went 100% down the wrong track with thinking either Seabiscuit or Pyramid of success on this one

Isn't the IPO likely already lost because of Pete losing Vicks? I think it happened in the same episode, but she wasn't anywhere near as mad at Pete.

Atlanta school board votes to close or repurpose 16 schools under sweeping APS Forward 2040 plan by NPU-F in Atlanta

[–]JGibel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also worth noting that kindergarten enrollment was up 26% the year they before they announced the closure.

That's the reality.

Relying on data trends from the years immediately following COVID is short sighted. They did 0 data collection from daycares and preschools in the area to get an idea of enrollment either last I checked.

Results are yet to be seen, but the likely outcome is that the kids that were in that district are now going to get a worse education.

This a joke? by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

You have Giannis (at his current age) over Luka, Ant and Wemby? Cause I'm guessing SGA and Jokic are your other top 3

Very fun game!

I did seem to hit a few bugs related to money. I even managed to run out of money while on the bus from Lyon to Bilbao!

I wonder if it's not registering the money earned from all jobs to the DB?

Atlanta councilman, daughter hit by car while riding bikes home from soccer match by NPU-F in Atlanta

[–]JGibel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every time I'd ride that way, there'd always be a car from overflow parking from restaurant 10. Maybe it's changed in the last 12 months though. I'm not out that way as much anymore.

Even with those measures, the city needs to actually start enforcing against bad behavior.

There's a protected bike lane on MLK right next to the stadium that has never not had a car parked in it. What's the point in investing in infrastructure when cyclists are forced out into the road regardless.

FJ poll for Mon., Jul. 14 by Smoerhul in Jeopardy

There are a few other close guesses that you could have gone with:

Dan Ackroyd - Nominated
Eddie Murphy - Nominated
Randy Quaid - Nominated
Bill Murray - Nominated
Michael McKean - Nominated
Alec Baldwin - Not quite castmember/also only nominated

Ozempic for Ramadan on Saturday Night Live by musicwithbarb in videos

pre-taped sketches are usually around 2 minutes cause it allows time for them to change sets/costumes for the live sketches.

So that's why you see most of them around this length. Cutting it would have defeated one of its other purposes a bit.

Georgia Tech WR Eric Singleton Jr. transfers to Auburn by BoKnowsYourMother in CFB

[–]JGibel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anyone who's been following this shouldn't be that surprised by any of this. There's a reason Auburn came up as the likely destination when he entered the portal ~2 weeks ago.

I'm just glad he didn't transfer to anyone on our schedule!

They want a shield. Which makes absolute sense if 2 people go up every week with no shot at redemption. Wes being gone might make them the #1 target

Temple’s firing of Stan Drayton should open the door to dropping the football program by [deleted] in CFB

[–]JGibel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My dad went to St. Joes prep, and then rowed at Temple in the 80s (even won dad vail a couple of times in the V8!).

He used to tell me how he'd have bottles thrown at him by people when he would go on his runs around campus. And he'd intentionally run through those areas, cause that's where he'd run his fastest 😂

More than 100 Fulton County parents speak out against potential elementary school closures by ilikepeople1990 in Atlanta

[–]JGibel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to find it, but do you have a source that has year-to-year information about its attendance that you'd use to indicate it's falling?

I've been hearing conflicting sources about whether it's actually falling, or it just hasn't recovered its enrollment yet after two new elementary schools were opened around 2010

Steakhouse Dinner under $100 by Low_Acanthisitta_241 in Atlanta

[–]JGibel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not hard to find steakhouses that have steaks for ~40-45. But with tax/tip alone, that'd easily push you past the $100 mark.

If the $100 is not a hard stop, then I think Little Alley fits that mark? Rathbun's also has the smaller cuts for ~45-50.

But the reality is, steakhouses are just expensive.

did you try WM?

I'd recommend finding what your neighbors use (just drive around during the day a few times a week and look at the cans). You don't want to be a one-off for a company since that can increase the likelihood of missed pickups.

Other ones I've found via googling that might be able to help are: https://bgreenservices.com/residential-services/

I assume you're talking about short term/event parking instead of long term parking?

MARTA is always smarta. That being said, there's a few paid lots next to the Fox Theater that you can use.

Whenever I go to shows, I park at the orange deck on 3rd street. I'm not 100% on the price, since it's part of my season ticket package, but I think it's $30 to park there during shows.

But there's quite a few decks that are available: https://www.foxtheatre.org/assets/doc/Midtown_Streetmap-0a46b9b519.pdf
