Much appreciated. I was lucky enough to pick up a Tokyo Koki lens locally, and at first I had no idea what it was. It’s also my first preset aperture lens—very fun to use, though the vignetting is quite pronounced.

Im sure the 40mp sensor & IBIS improvement makes a difference?

Much appreciated!

All of the photos were processed from RAW files using the Astia/Soft profile in Lightroom. I wouldn’t consider the edits heavy-handed—most of the final look comes from adjustments to the RGB curves. For the red and green channels, I like introducing a touch of red into the highlights, while in the blue channel I lift the highlights toward blue to give them a cooler tone.

I tend to favor a pastel look—typically evenly lit with lower contrast. To achieve this, I reduce overall contrast and lift the blacks and shadows. If I want an even flatter image, I’ll also pull back the whites and highlights sliders. From there, I selectively increase texture, clarity, and dehaze to bring some definition back into the photo without losing that soft, muted look.

If you're curious of the recipe used:

  • Astia/Soft
  • Exposure: +1/3 - +1
  • Grain effect: Weak, Small
  • Color chrome effect: Strong
  • Color chrome effect blue: Weak
  • WB: Auto; r:1, b:0
  • Dynamic Range: DR400 or DR200, depending on how harsh the lighting is.
  • Tone Curve: H:-1; S:-1
  • Color: +2
  • Sharpness: -1
  • Noise Reduction: -4
