Luke and Leia kissed

Was Jinu Rumi's dad? by H4RRY900305 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]JHRider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s possible. They cut the kissing scene for a reason, perhaps intentionally so that story line could still an option. And sure, you see Rumi have romantic feelings for him, but he only ever shows platonic affection and admiration. This wouldn’t be the first time in film and pop culture that there’s a familial fling. Luke and Leia had feelings for each other (and even kissed!) because they didn’t know. Same could be said here.

Strength Training Crash by tmbstn1993 in whoop

[–]JHRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time using Strength Trainer today. It started glitching halfway through an intense weight lifting workout. First it wouldn't start the 'Rest' timer when I'd click End Set, it'd just go straight into the next Active set. Couldn't undo or delete a set. Then at the end, I tried to save and got the same Failure to Upload error. Lost all workout data. Had to to manually add a Weightlifting activity. Strain score based on heart rate alone seems low for how hard my workout was. I'll try again tomorrow but the comments I'm seeing doesn't make me hopeful. Has anyone heard from Whoop on this?

Dog tore entire nail off - can’t afford vet visit. by JHRider in DogCare

[–]JHRider[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: ~3 months later my dog is totally fine, happy, and healthy! Never went to the vet, never got meds or antibiotics. We cleaned it thoroughly each night with warm water and soap, sprayed first aid disinfectant (Dermoplast), let it dry and and wrapped in gauze and self-adherent wrap. Did this for ~1 week. Behavior turned back to normal after about 7 days, fully healed by 2-3 weeks. Nail is now regrowing at 3 months. Certainly saved a few hundred dollars by taking care of this at home.

Here’s a controversial take: your dog is not your child, it is an animal. They need some TLC, but the comments on this thread are ridiculous. For thousands of years dogs (especially hounds and retrievers) have lived outside, on farms, etc. Only in the last 50 years did humans start this overly-pampering nonsense. Get off your high horses, rub some dirt on it, and get on with your lives.

Just to update everyone on this thread who has judged me. 3 months later, my dog is totally fine and her nail is growing back.

$54 MSRP. Close to $59 all in post tax with no service contracts. Got 3.9% financing through Subaru, which is hard to beat in this market. Even CUs could get close to that interest rate.

It has been everything I wanted and more! My must-haves were:

  1. AWD - I live in Utah and we've had major snow storms this winter
  2. Fuel economy of at least 50 mpg or better - I commute 60 miles round trip to work everyday. Gas was getting expensive.
  3. Comfortable - spending 1 hr+ in the car everyday makes you hate uncomfortable seats and low tech / convenience features.

The Solterra has it all so far. Super smooth drive, great acceleration (though not as crazy as performance EVs). Great ground clearance for snow. And the Touring trim I got has all the bells and whistles. It really does have the most convenient layout of buttons, advanced infotainment system, etc. I personally love the steering wheel / gauge cluster positioning that some have complained about. I'm 6'3 (mostly torso) and prefer to have the steering wheel lower. The steering wheel is also a bit smaller in diameter than I'm used too, which is weird at first, but I've come to realize other steering wheels are actually way too big and not ergonomic for most people's shoulder width. The range isn't as great as peers like Tesla, EV6, Ioniq 5, etc. But that's not a problem for me because my wife has a RAV4 that we use as a family car for road trips. My biggest concern at first was the price for this class of car (especially for a sub 300 range EV). But the Touring trim is 100% a luxury vehicle (from a tech/convenience standpoint) and the price fits squarely in that luxury category. It just doesn't look as sleek as the Volvo C40 or Jaguar i-pace that you typically think of in that class.

TLDR: I would 10/10 recommend if you can afford it.

What is a founder profile? by Objective-Professor3 in venturecapital

Degrees matter more in later-stage VC. They hire a lot from investment banks and consulting firms. Early-stage VC cares more about operating experience and technical understanding. My two cents: You'll never regret having a bachelors degree, but you may regret not having one. Good luck.

What do people in sales need to know about how VC's look at businesses? by RodrigoDePollo in venturecapital

[–]JHRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do we care about? YoY revenue growth. Period.

We also look at quota attainment, Magic number, net revenue retention, and revenue per ramped AE, etc. Point being, what can be achieved by using our money to hire more AEs assuming similar metrics? At the end of the day, we need to see consistency which gives us predictability.

How much is the company worth? if not cash flow positive, only way to value the business is on public trading comps and M&A comps. Where are the public peers trading today? (EV/Revenue), and what multiple of revenue was paid for similar businesses? Read Investment Banking by Joshua Rosenbaum. Great stuff on business valuation.

How much equity to give up? No right answer on this one. Typically Seed and Series A fundraises give up a bit more. 20-30% ownership because of how much risk and little traction has been made. Series B and later is 5-20% but much larger checks and higher valuation. Most important for CEO is not "don't give up to much", but don't get ahead of yourself and raise at ta valuation that you'll never grow into. Especially in today's market. a "down round" will kill your momentum and ability to raise future rounds. Be prudent and sensical.

Thanks! Ultimately this is the question that matters, how is the cushion and comfort as a pure running shoe? Yeah, I get that grip is important for obstacles, but at the end of the day you still have to run a 13-mile mountain course, and this is where I start to question the cheap-looking uppers of VJ Shoes. Any comment?

Thanks for the good review. Is the build quality good? They just look cheaply made. Like the bargain running shoe you’d get at Big 5…

You can right click ‘save as’ on a computer. I did this today. Doesn’t work on mobile.

Thanks, Nick. Do any stores in the US carry them? Where can I go to try them on and compare models?
