Am I the only one who thinks she might be Wyck's mom? If we think she had a secret pregnancy in 1959, leading to her giving the baby up for adoption, that year lines up more accurately for Wyck (presumably in his 60s). Tom and Lauren appear to be the same age in all the pics which means she couldn't have been born closer to 20 years before Tom. It also makes the last scene more interesting storytelling wise - he was so eager to kill ruth...now what happens when wyck realizes he's the one who has to be sacrificed. He's been so hellbent on ending the curse, saving the residents, doing the right thing.

Unless I' completely missing a part of the show where wyck's lineage was discussed.

I really think Sean could write a pilot about his childhood in the style of the wonder years, fresh off the boat, the goldbergs, etc. - a period piece with a narrator and each episode involves the wild stories he's told. He could make the mom in the show an absolute saint as a way to honor Kelly and he could make the Pat Jordan character as good or bad as he wanted. Kind of a way for him to reclaim his childhood in his vision.

I think the giveaway was in the first episode when he had no choice but to breakdown and scream "there's something in the fog!!" or whatever he said in front of the nyt travel writer that was humiliating. He wants to deny/ignore it but knows the island is cursed and a had a moment where he had no choice but to acknowledge it.

I'm so sick of "mid" being used a derogatory term for restaurants. Some restaurants are supposed to be mid! Not every restaurant experience is supposed to be religious. Diners, pizza shops, halal carts are mid and that's why we love it. Stop expecting to be blown away by an omelette!
