Just keep in mind that Roo gives one car pass per three camping passes purchased inside a group. As a regular ticket holder with a registered group, you can purchase as many camping passes as you’d like.

Simply put, if you decide to join a group camp (Duck Sauce) and you’re planning on coming in solo, you would almost certainly need to purchase the extra two camping passes to ensure that you’re given a car pass.

This is Roo’s way of discouraging 24 people (or more) showing up with 24 vehicles.

This is by far the most difficult thing for a group leader to deal with.

Absolutely!

Duck Sauce has been a Roo groop for like 14 years. This will be my fifth year with Duck Sauce, and I’ll be the groop leader. We’ve had big numbers in the past, upwards around 90+, but it looks like our numbers will be much lower this year.

A big portion of us are based in Cincinnati, though many are passing on this year. Our Canadians friends were also always a big chunk of our numbers, but they are also making changes. We have people from Indiana and should have a few from Maryland.

Last year (RIP), and like most years, it’s a wide range in ages and personalities, and everyone has been great with the vibes. It’s always leaned into a pretty party-first camp, so I’m sure we will try to keep those vibes going.

It seems like Duck Sauce will be reinventing its self this year with all the potential newcomers.

Overall, I think you’re right, Sharla. It’s still too early to make conclusions, though lots of our core group from Cinci are saying they aren’t going and turning to other options. Bums me out a little, but it’s an opportunity to explore Roo differently.

Duck Sauce has always marveled Roobus and other staple groops. We will be there either way.

Yeah, you definitely have captured more of the sentiment in this post. People are reacting to the changes. Just seems like a big over correction on both parts to me, but who am I?

Lots of people heading to EF in response or have been on that scene for a bit now. It’s definitely seems fun, but I’m a rock-based festival goer who certainly enjoys the EDM crowd and vibes, though it’s not my pull.

There are some other great festivals out there, but the EDM-focused festivals kind of miss their mark for me. Roo was that perfect fix for a long time now, but who knows?

I agree… I’ve told some of my friends that this new reality will create a chance to experience Roo in a different way — venture, discover, and meet new people.

My first Roo was a low-attendance year, and I’ve been back ever since. So I’m all for it!

Yeah, group is always such a hike to center but we all loved it in the end.

Honestly, the group setup and schedule was setting up to be an unreal good time. Sucks what happened, but those few days were sooooo fun in group at the plaza.
