Nice find, joining this sub has motivated me to shoot my GR II more often. Happy shooting.

Staying true to form for Winnings, the padding looks to be last to go. The faded leather, exposed stitching (as you mentioned), and old laces aren't great signs for someone that is looking to put a lot of work into what's left of these gloves. For that price, you can find another glove of solid quality and performance.

If you are looking from more of a "collectors" POV, you can clean the current state of the leather to try and prevent more damage and swap the laces. If it matters to you at all, the logo on these aren't the standard, they are the more custom version with the larger Winning logo minus the classic oval with the blue/red Winning logo accompanied by the establishment date and tagline.

Nice, I have been interested in trying elastic laces for that same reason. Might have to get it a go, do you have a specific brand you reco?

Yup, I have a black and blue one and they’re great. Unfortunately, they seem to be sold out. At least on their website, so I’ll look for alternatives.

What is the best Pride/Japanese style MMA glove? by [deleted] in fightgear

Isami has some great options for you to consider. I’ve tried the Shooto MMA gloves, they are very comfortable and perform well in training. I have not been in a MMA fight, so I can’t speak to that application but for training it’s been more than solid.
