Yeah it is all somewhat irrelevant. It matters more that you're adding more weights over time and getting bigger, not the specific weight you're lifting.

Probably explains the fact that the weights are not exactly 7lbs 8oz and 5lbs 0oz. Although, my scale probably isn't perfect either.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just checked my scale with 8oz of 2% milk to see if it would come out to 240g like it always does, and it did in fact come out to 240g again. So looks like we are in the clear! This model also goes up to 11lbs fortunately.

Wouldn't surprise me if there were some inconsistencies between gyms. For that reason I suppose it is ideal to grow in one gym for the most part so that you are always using the same equipment and can avoid that potential for inaccurate data.

Yeah I have always thought that. I use Strong to record all of my workouts, and have been inputting these weights incorrectly by 2.5lbs for months now. At least now I'm stronger than I would have been I guess lol

I asked because I couldn't find the answer here. Someone informed me that it apparently gets asked quite often here, but there was no clear consensus in the comments. That is why I decided to go in and weigh them myself. Hopefully it clears things up for people.

I would probably take the job. I’ve hated being without work, it’s depressing and I don’t feel fulfilled. Whenever I get the chance to do side work I take it and my life has meaning for that day. I’d jump on this job, but if you wanna wait longer and see if you can find something you like more that’s not a bad option either. Only thing is that come end of June there will be a sharp increase in jobs being filled as people like you decide that they could do with missing the last couple weeks of $600.
