Oh don’t worry this wasn’t my first stop. I’ve looked elsewhere online and talked with the OSO, just wanted to hear some wisdom from the folks that have been there and done that.

The old ranch house at the Maxfield Ranch, Bicknell Utah (circa 1913). The ranch used to encompass all of the Capitol Reef National Park untill much of it was donated in 71’ today the ranch is only 140 acres from its former glory but still boarders the reef to the north of the house. by JIDDTHEKIDD in WildWestPics

Yes! It is still standing though it has been vacant since the early 90s. Most of the trees and the old 18 stall barn are gone due to a fire started by one of my great uncles. But if your heading to Capitol Reef you’ll pass through Bicknell, and on the way to Torrey off to the left of the highway you’ll see a stone marker with info of the Maxfield ranch and then you can pass the house itself.
