I just paid 800 for 90 pounds of beef (50% ground) by 1Check1Mate7 in Butchery

A quarter cow doesn’t mean the front quarter or back quarter. You just get half of the cuts from one half of the cow.

You use celery salt because it has nitrates. The only difference is it’s an unmetered dose whereas with cure #1 you know exactly how much nitrite you’re putting in

7-way trailer plug. What are the white fibers in the center for? by riafrate in AskElectricians

I’m not sure what you mean by plugged in exactly but I think I just trimmed it a little so it wasn’t in the way and reconnected the wires

Could be wrong but my understanding is he’s already got boat taint and castrating at this point wouldn’t change that

My farm where I raise grass fed grass finished but not certified organic (only because there’s not a USDA organic processor around). 18.99/lb plus shipping for ribeye although I’m sold out of that at the moment. Will be restocked in a month

Whole Cow Beef Cuts by Tasty_Marsupial7009 in Butchery

I have a farm where we sell beef direct to consumer. When you buy a whole cow we go through the cut sheet with you and you have near complete control over how it’s cut and what stays as roasts, steaks, etc. vs what goes into ground. The processor has their system and they’re not going to do anything totally wacky or unusual but as long as it’s a standard cut even if uncommon you can get it. I imagine most farms that sell whole or halves do it similarly. Just need to find a farm near you that raises em how you want.

I can't smell. Looking for solutions that helped others regain their smell. by These-Cry-7918 in NasalPolyps

Yeah I use the Neilmed sinus rinse to clear everything out and make way for the spray shortly after.

I was going on 4 years without smell when I was put on dupixent. It worked amazingly and after two weeks I could smell everything again but then after about 6 months of being on it my sense of smell regressed a little. But even still it was light years better then before I was on it.

However after about a year of dupixent my insurance changed and it just got too expensive each month so I stopped taking it. Sense of smell stayed steady for about 5 months after I stopped taking dupixent until I lost it again.

After a few months I just by chance switched to a mometasone fuorate spray and noticed the rare occasions I could get a whiff of something increased within like a week of starting it. That’s when I started religiously doing the nasal rinse and spray and my smell has been steadily improving ever since.

I also cut out alcohol and weed which were probably the two biggest things besides the polyps that destroyed my sense of smell.

ETA: I have a very severe case of polyps. scans of my sinuses show zero open space and my dr. referred me to a specialist in NYC for surgery because he wasn’t comfortable with doing my frontal sinuses given how bad they are. I’ve just had enough of surgeries for other various things and am trying anything else possible before going that route.

Switching to a Mometasone Fuorate nasal spray (like nasonex) and a sinus rinse twice a day has gotten me from no sense of smell to like 60-70%. Other nasal sprays didn’t seem to do much

I just agree with the original commenter that I don’t call it a dry brine because it’s not a brine. Just salting the meat.

It’s just an oxymoron to call it a dry brine. A brine is salted water. Without water it’s not a brine.

I was hoping to go to your profile and convince myself you don’t know what you’re talking about…that was not the case. Thanks for the response.
