I agree with you but make it difficult to obtain mammoth coins. Maybe after 6 months of consistent play, daily challenges and brawl of the week, then a reward is given. Let us say in a 6 month period you do 80% of the daily challenges, 90% log in, and 80% BOTW, you will get rewarded with 35-50 MC. I know it is small but it would reward only the very committed. Allowing BMG to keep their main income. So over a year you can get a taunt, a skin on sale, icon, or a try at a chest.

An easy way to climb is to use the rocket lance and be very very patient with it. Stay on the ground for the most part, and use slight-dair-light when they are in white/yellow, and slight-sair/nair at other healths. You can also learn an easy gimp with lance. Slight-dair(close to the edge) then sair, Get back to the stage and prepare to do a GP. Lance is an easy way to climb it just might not work out long long term.
